You Need to See Why We Love This Cheap Hotel by Disneyland

One of the best things about visiting Disneyland is how easy it is to find affordable hotels near the parks without having to pay the high cost of staying on site. You have a huge range of choices depending on what you want to prioritize whether it's close walking distance, free breakfast, or the best pools for kids.

I recently stayed at the Camelot Inn & Suites which is one of the closest hotels within walking distance to Disneyland. This hotel is one of the most affordable out of the top three “closest” walking hotels to the parks and we had a great experience.

Keep reading for my full review of the Camelot Inn & Suites and why I think this hotel is a great pick for your visit to Disneyland.

Camelot Inn & Suites Overview

Camelot Inn Disneyland Hotel

The Camelot Inn & Suites is one of the oldest hotels in the area but has undergone updates over the years. This hotel is themed to look like the exterior of a castle, a popular hotel motif in the 90s, and this theme still remains popular with kids. The hotel is located right on Harbor Blvd. across the main entrance to Disneyland and next door to a local McDonalds.

The average price for Camelot Inn & Suites when you book through Get Away Today is around $200 per night, depending on the time of the year. This is an average price, you may end up paying a lower price depending on your dates.

Walking Distance to Disneyland
Camelot Inn near DIsneyland

Camelot Inn & Suites is one of the hotels located on Harbor Blvd that is within a short walking distance to Disneyland. This is my favorite feature of the hotel and makes it one of our top choices for a Disneyland trip.

I personally do not enjoy taking the local Disneyland/hotel bus (known as the “ART” bus) or dealing with rideshare if the walk is too long. For me, the most important part of picking a Disneyland hotel is the distance and if it is easily walkable.

You simply just walk out the front entrance of the Camelot Inn & Suites onto Harbor Blvd and cross one intersection to head to Disneyland. It is the easiest, most simple walk!

To illustrate how easy the walk is, you can see the Google Maps screenshot above to see what the walk looks like. It's an eight minute walk to the entrance of Disneyland but it's actually only about a four minute walk just to get to the entrance of the theme park.

You walk past two other hotels (Tropicana Inn & Suites and Best Western Plus Park Place Inn & Mini Suites) before reaching a large intersection you cross. Tons of other families will be crossing with you so it's a safe and easy way to get to the entrance.

As you cross Harbor Blvd, this is the walkway you will see that leads to Disneyland.

To the left of the big Disneyland sign is the rideshare pick up and drop off spot. Keep walking underneath the sign to find yourself in the bus drop off area before you reach Disneyland security.

This is a safe walk at night as well since you will be leaving the parks with so many other groups and families.

Big Rooms For Large Families Near Disneyland

Camelot Review Inn and Suites

The rooms are Camelot Inn & Suites are surprisingly spacious and offer more than enough space for families.

We had plenty of space for all our suitcases around the room and there were plenty of storage options to take advantage of.

Rooms Offer Castle Theming

Camelot Inn Suites

The rooms also offer subtle castle theming with the large castle mural behind the tv and the wallpaper on the back wall that mimics a castle motif.

The theming in these rooms are nothing compared to what you might see at a Disneyland owned hotel but they do the trick.

You can also see the ample storage provided including a large tiered shelf next to the cabinets underneath the tv. This shelf was extremely handy for stacking our clothes and toiletries.

Large Space to Get Ready Each Day

The rooms at Camelot Inn & Suites continue to impress with large spaces to get ready in the morning and even MORE storage. These rooms are just so spacious which can be a rarity for hotels near Disneyland.

I appreciated the updated finishings in this area like the lighted mirror and large counterspace.

Clean Bathrooms at the Camelot Inn & Suites

Camelot Inn & Suites also has large bathrooms with a tub which is great for families.

The bathroom is often where you can truly spot the age of a hotel but these bathrooms were clean and updated.

The water pressure was fine and the heating settings had no issues, two signs of older hotel rooms that did not cause any issues during our stay.

Pool with a Fireworks View

Disneyland Camelot Inn Suites

The pool is another great feature at the Camelot Inn & Suites located near Disneyland. So many of the motel style hotels in this area have parking lot pools and this is one of the few that doesn't!

The pool is located on part of the roof which means it is separate from the parking lot and offers a great view of the park.

This is also a great place to watch the fireworks from outside the parks since your view is directly adjacent to Disneyland. If you look in the picture, you can see the top of the Matterhorn!

Located Next to McDonalds

Camelot Inn and Suites

While the Camelot Inn & Suites does not offer on-site breakfast, it is directly located next to a McDonalds which is a great and cheap option for breakfast.

This came in handy for us more than once especially if we just wanted to grab a coffee and something quick to eat while we were walking to Disneyland.

On-Site Convenience Store

Camelot Inn Merchandise Store

There is also an on-site convenience store available with snacks, merchandise, and other basic items. I actually didn't think the items here were marked up too terribly which is often the case with any on-site hotel store in the hotels around Disneyland.

The store did close early, it was often closed when we came back after the parks, so make sure you plan ahead if you want to stop in and go earlier in the day.

Camelot Inn & Suites Has Best Disneyland Access

Camelot Inn Suites

Overall, this hotel is a favorite of ours for staying within close walking distance to Disneyland. The walk is extremely easy and convenient, the price is affordable, and the rooms were clean plus spacious.

This hotel joins our other favorites within the closest walking distance which include the Tropicana Inn & Suites and Best Western Plus Park Place Inn. These three hotels are all actually closer, if you look at actual distance, to the front entrance of Disneyland than the three on-site Disneyland hotels.
