Incredicoaster Queue: What You Need to Know

Incredicoaster Entrance

Both the standby and Lightning Lane queue for Incredicoaster start just after you walk under the Incredicoaster archway and take a left turn.

On the other hand, the Single Rider queue starts before you reach the Incredicoaster archway from Lamplight Lounge. The Lightning Lane merge point happens right before walking up the stairs to the bridge that goes over the coaster track. It's on this bridge where you watch the ride's pre-show on the overhead televisions, explaining the backstory of the coaster.

It's important to note that there are several chicken exists should you choose to skip the ride. One is at the Lightning Lane merge point, where you can ask a Cast Member to walk through a gate and out of the ride's exit. Your next chicken exit is at the boarding area, where you tell a Cast Member that you want to exit. You'll be directed to step into the ride vehicle and immediately step out the other side to the ride's exit.

Incredicoaster Ride Vehicle Information

Incredicoaster Ride Vehicle

Once you make it to the boarding area queue, a Cast Member will ask how many guests are in your party and will then direct you to a numbered row.

You'll then step down into your ride vehicle and pull down on your over-the-shoulder restraint. Note that the ride vehicle is designed like a traditional roller coaster, with your feet touching the bottom of the vehicle and sides enclosed. And like Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster at Walt Disney World, this ride vehicle fits 2 riders across.

Incredicoaster also has a transfer access vehicle, which consists of a bench seat without a restraint situated next to a traditional coaster seat with the over-the-shoulder restraint. The bench allows those transferring from a wheelchair to have an easier time getting into the ride vehicle.

Each ride vehicle also has its own on-board audio that allows the vehicle's motion to sync with the ride music – more on that in the next section!

Incredicoaster: Ride Experience

Incredicoaster Launch

While Incredicoaster is not as thrilling as roller coasters you'll find at theme parks like Universal Studios Hollywood or SeaWorld San Diego, its thrill factor is still up there.

The ride starts out with a 0-to-55mph launch as you go straight up the first hill feeling like you're on a plane. Then, you'll go through a series of tight (but smooth) turns, a 2nd launch that sends you over a 110-foot hill. You'll then bank and go through an elliptical loop, followed by a diving turn and series of camelbacks before coming back to the loading area.

As thrilling as it sounds, each turn, bank, and loop is synced perfectly with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Dash, and Violet as they try to catch Jack-Jack. You'll even feel the heat when Jack-Jack turns into a ball of fire, smell chocolate chip cookies as Mr. Incredible lures Jack-Jack with a cookie num-num, and hear the Parr family yelling at each other as they they try to catch Jack-Jack.

Let's break down the aspects of the ride that that make it thrilling and add to its MVRRS rating for our Incredicoaster ride review:

  • Launch Sequence: This is immediately the first thing you'll experience, as you reach your top speed within 5 seconds of launching. What makes this special is that in your ride speakers, you hear Dash counting down your launch, along with sound effects as if he was running alongside you on the water!
  • Speed: Incredicoaster reaches a top speed of 55mph right at its launch sequence
  • Big Drops and Loop: There are several big drops (including 1 of about 110 feet) spread throughout this ride and 1 elliptical loop toward the end. Since this ride is outdoors, you get the chance to see just how high up you are
  • Fast Turns: Incredicoaster has a number of fast turns and sweeping banks in which you feel the gravitational forces against you. The big drops, loop, and fast turns make this ride unadvisable for guests prone to motion sickness
  • “Scream Tunnels”: The red tunnels you see on this ride were made to contain guests' noise to comply with local regulations. This makes the ride appear less thrilling than it may actually be
  • Visual and Audio Effects: Throughout the ride are figures of the Parr family along with LED screens to progress the ride's storyline. The ride's soundtrack, composed by Michael Giacchino (the composer for The Incredibles movies) is synced with the ride to add an extra-incredible element to it
  • Length: While Incredicoaster is not as short as TRON Lightcycle / Run at Disney World, its 2-minute length puts it on par with Space Mountain at Disneyland Park and Guardian's of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT
  • Night-Time Experience: At night, this ride is a whole different experience. The LED screens and lights throughout the ride highlight the storyline really well and make the Parr family figures much more noticeable

Every single effect adds up to a very thrilling ride.

Favorite Moment of Incredicoaster

Incredicoaster at Night

Here's why you need to consider riding Incredicoaster even with its level of thrill and scariness.

Straight away, the ride's theming reaches deep into my Pixar-loving soul. More than Disney, I grew up on Pixar and The Incredibles is one of my favorite all-time movies. Having a roller coaster based on one of my favorite movies is a dream-come-true!

With that said, my favorite moment of this ride is the launch sequence. While I'm not exactly a “thrill seeker,” I really enjoy the way Disney designed the launch sequence. They make you feel like Dash is really running right next to you. The launch then sets up the rest of the ride perfectly as you're on a high-speed, thrilling chase to get Jack-Jack back.

The launch sequence is moment that I look forward to every single time I ride Incredicoaster.

Incredicoaster: Scary Verdict

Pixar Pier

So, how does Incredicoaster stack up against our MVRRS?

MVRRS VERDICT: Scary but Survivable: Moderately scary

Unlike Space Mountain, Incredicoaster has ride elements that make it much more thrilling. The launch sequence, top speed, big drops, a loop, and fast turns make it a big step above Space Mountain but nowhere near rides like Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! or TRON Lightcycle / Run at Disney World.

And like I said earlier, I'm not exactly a “thrill-seeker” – because of that, I usually find myself preparing myself whenever I choose to ride Incredicoaster.

However, the ride's theming and storyline make it a wonderful roller coaster for families to enjoy together.

And with the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums shop at the exit of the ride, you can even reward yourself with a snack!
