Disney's Grand Floridian Room Types

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has 867 hotel rooms including standard rooms, club level rooms, and handicap accessible room options. The standard rooms are considered some of the largest on Walt Disney World property averaging around 450 square feet.

Standard rooms are furnished with two queen beds, dresser, desk with chair, nightstand, flat screen TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, in-room safe, ironing board and iron. Rooms also include shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, and bar soap.

Club level rooms include access to one of the two concierge resort lounges. Guests that are willing to pay for this high end service can enjoy a dedicated check-in and check-out service, turn down service, complimentary breakfast, appetizers, snacks, and an assortment of drinks. Suites are available but many Club level rooms are similar to the standard rooms.

Handicap accessible rooms feature vary from roll-in showers, assistive hearing devices, and other inclusive options.

Grand Floridian View

Guests can opt for different views from their resort hotel room which include:

  • Garden View: these rooms have views of landscaping, pools, or other buildings.
  • Lagoon View: these rooms face the Seven Seas Lagoon but don't have a Magic Kingdom view.
  • Theme Park View: this view is the top tier option with views of Magic Kingdom.

Pricing is cheapest for the Garden View with the most expensive being the Theme Park view. Each room is equipped with a balcony and chairs.

One Unique Thing

The one unique thing you can find at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is their giant gingerbread house display during the holiday season at Walt Disney World.

Visiting this deluxe hotel is a must during the holiday season to take in the jaw dropping decorations in the lobby which any guest can access. This does increase crowds in the lobby during this time so keep that in mind if you are staying at the resort in the holiday season.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has numerous dining options ranging from quick service options tailored to guests staying at the hotel and fine dining restaurants that are popular amongst all Walt Disney World guests.

  • Victoria & Alberts– This is the most premium Disney Signature dining option at Walt Disney World. This elegant restaurant is reminiscent of a Victorian themed garden with world-class service and the option of two tasting menus each evening.
  • Cítricos– This upscale lounge Disney Signature lounge has recently been reimagined as a space inspired by Mary Poppins Returns and offers an award winning wine list.
  • Narcoossee's– This signature dining experience offers waterfront views and an upscale coastal inspired menu.
  • 1900 Park Fare– This popular character dining option is available for breakfast and dinner featuring notable Disney Princesses and Princes in a setting with carousel theming, whimsical décor and impressionist-style Disney artwork.
  • Enchanted Rose– This lounge offers four different areas all inspired by Disney's Beauty & the Beast film offering a wide selection of drinks.
  • Grand Floridian Café– This restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with reinvented American classic dishes.
  • Gasparilla Island Grill– This quick service location includes grab and go entrees available for lunch and dinner. Selections include an artisan burger, flatbreads and sandwiches.

Keep in mind that fine dining experiences, called Disney Signature dining, have a dress code requiring guests to dress accordingly.

Transportation

Grand Floridian monorail

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has two main transportation options: monorail and bus service.

  • Magic Kingdom: monorail, on foot via the resort walking path, water taxi
  • EPCOT: monorail, bus
  • Hollywood Studios: bus
  • Animal Kingdom: bus
  • Disney Springs: bus
  • Typhoon Lagoon/Blizzard Beach: bus

Disney bus

The monorail is also connected to the Contemporary Resort and Polynesian resort. If you want to visit the other resorts, you will have to drive or use a rideshare service like Uber/Lyft or Minnie Vans. Or you could take a Disney bus to Disney Springs which has bus stops for all the Disney resort hotels and transfer from there.

Pools

Grand Floridian pool

There are two main pools at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and a kiddie pool area with water playground.

The Beach Pool and Alice in Wonderland themed water playground are located right off the main building entrance. The Beach Pool overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon with a 181-foot water slide and beach cabanas for rent. This area also has showers, storage lockers, and restrooms.

Grand Floridian Pool

The Courtyard Pool and hot tub are to the east of the main building and offer a great view of the fireworks from Magic Kingdom at night. The hot tub in this area is large enough to accommodate many guests.

Pool hours vary but are often from 9AM to 11PM. The main feature pool, Beach Pool, has lifeguards.
