Guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels have access to exclusive perks not available to other guests. This summer, for example, Disney introduced new amenities for families traveling with young children. Disney also recently rolled out changes to prevent resort hopping for guests not staying at Disney properties. This all speaks to Disney incentivizing its official hotels even more than before, and another announcement further solidifies this.
Disney World is expanding a popular hotel perk so that more guests are eligible. We have details on who can take advantage of this benefit and where you need to stay to use it. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a Disney World menu item that’s only available for two hours each day and 9 Disney hotel projects currently underway.

Eligible guests can have their checked luggage delivered directly to their hotel from the airport, free of charge. The last time they see their bags is when dropping them off at their local airport before flying to Orlando. This way, the guest can skip the bag check process upon touchdown in Florida.
To be eligible for Airport Luggage Transfer, guests must be flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) and be staying at a Disney World hotel in the “value” category:
- Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
- Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
- Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Until now, Airport Luggage Transfer has been offered only to guests flying with Southwest Airlines and American Airlines.
Effective June 29, 2026, guests traveling on Delta flights are eligible for Airport Luggage Transfer. The selection of eligible resorts remains the same.
Update: Delta was removed from the page of participating airlines, but this happened previously, when airlines were added and removed from the page before the change became official. Disney World’s official airport luggage transfer page says, “Additional airlines could be added soon. Please check back for the most up-to-date information.”
Disney says additional airlines “could be added soon.”
Guests can enroll for Airport Luggage Transfer by filling out this form up to 30 days before their flight. Registration closes 24 hours before the flight.

For many years, Disney offered luggage transfer and airport transportation free for guests staying at any Disney World hotel. Free airport transportation has only returned for guests who book a specific vacation package. As for luggage, Disney began testing the current transfer system in 2025 with Southwest only, then expanded the service to American Airlines earlier this year. Now, Delta is included in the bunch.
Rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies are currently being renovated in phases, with the refurbishments expected to be complete by January 2027.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will begin a refurbishment of its guest rooms in 2027.
Perks for Disney World Resort Guests and Disney’s Increasing Exclusivity
Guests staying overnight at any Disney World hotel have access to Early Theme Park Entry. Every day, all four theme parks open 30 minutes early just for resort guests. See our guide to Early Theme Park Entry with tips for making the most of the extra time.
All Disney World hotels also provide their overnight guests with free transportation to and from Disney’s theme parks, water parks, and the Disney Springs dining and shopping center. Disney recently began enforcing bus and boat transportation from Disney Springs to hotels, only allowing rides to guests with reservations, and verifying hotel reservations for pool access.
