Disneyland 70th Anniversary Foods Review
The Strawberry Shortcake Macaron from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe contains Vanilla Bean Buttercream, Strawberry Jam, and Fresh Strawberry, with Strawberry Whipped Topping and Strawberry Crunch. We loved this item, which looks like a celebration cake. It doesn’t appear to be a macaron, so the title is a little deceiving. The cake underneath is delicious! This is definitely one of the visually cutest treats of the celebration.
The Celebration Matterhorn Macaroon from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is a Coconut Macaroon dipped in White Chocolate and Sprinkles. This is the same as the original one, but it has some fun added to it with the sprinkles!
The Mickey Hat Cookie from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is one of the fun food items inspired by the past! This is a cookie dipped in Black Chocolate with a Chocolate Decoration. The cookie actually tastes good! It can also be found at Market House.
We tried the 70th Stuff from Red Rose Taverne, which is a shortbread cookie with a cookies and cream cake, fresh raspberry, and raspberry jam surrounded with white chocolate mousse and topped with colored sprinkles.
This was delicious! It had one fresh raspberry and an Oreo below. The frosting was also good. This was our favorite version of this dessert that we’ve had!

The Cowboy Fries from Golden Horseshoe is another item inspired by the past, as this location used to serve burgers in the past! This dish contains fries, nacho cheese, sautéed ground beef, burger sauce, and butter pickles. This tastes like if a McDonald’s burger turned into animal-style fries and is definitely a must-try!
From Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante, we tried the Mocha Cream Puff filled with cinnamon-mocha pastry cream and topped with chocolate-covered corn chips. The best part was the chocolate-covered Fritos. The filling was very gooey and pretty thin, so it oozed out, but we thought it was good. There was more chocolate than coffee flavoring.
From Tiana’s Palace, we tried the House-filled Celebration Beignet, which is filled with raspberry mousse, buttercream glaze, edible candle, and sprinkles. This is adorable. There is not much filling in this, but it’s fun nonetheless.
We tried the Specialty Cold Brrr-ew from Cafe Daisy, which is Joffrey’s Cold Brew and vanilla crème syrup topped with whipped cream, chocolate medallions, and confetti sprinkles. We weren’t a huge fan of this, but some may like it!
We also tried the 70th Celebration Churro, which is a classic churro rolled in ube sugar and topped with marbled blue raspberry icing drizzle and sprinkles. We liked it fine, but those who don’t like ube flavoring may not be a fan of this one. You’ll find this at Churros near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, and Town Square.
We tried the Mickey-shaped Celebration Waffles with strawberry cream filling and topped with sprinkles and powdered sugar available at Schmoozies. These were really good, and we will definitely be getting them again!
Another fun treat we tried was the Pineapple Upside Down Sundae from Tropical Hideaway, which is DOLE Whip Pineapple, caramel drizzle, and pineapple upside-down cake topped with a maraschino cherry. This was absolutely delicious! It’s your classic Dole Whip perfectly complemented with thick caramel sauce. This was gone in about a minute.
A pretty fun new item is the Hook’s Galley Tuna Melt from Red Rose Taverne, which is fresh tuna salad topped with Muenster and herb-marinated tomatoes served with house chips. I’m not a big cooked tuna person, but I had to try this because of the fun reference to the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship and Restaurant that used to be in Fantasyland. This was pretty good! It was honestly a little spicy, so keep this in mind for kids, but it had a nice combination of flavors. I also enjoyed the cute sword pick detail.
We also tried the Sparkling Peach Punch from Red Rose Taverne, featuring Sprite and peach syrup with assorted popping spheres. This is pretty fun and refreshing, but be warned that it is pretty sweet. It actually pairs surprisingly nicely with the tuna sandwich.
At Galactic Grill, we tried the Space Place Cottage Fries tossed in Parmesan butter and parsley and served with house-made ranch. These are awesome! Great flavor and a perfect choice for a mid-day snack. The ranch was a nice addition.
The Chili Cheese Corn Dog from Corn Dog Castle at Disney California Adventure looked too interesting not to try. This is a corn dog topped with chili, shredded cheddar and corn chips. I liked this! It was flavorful and interesting and had a lot of crunch. I definitely recommend eating it with a fork and knife.
