Disneyland Update! CONSTRUCTION Progress, Holidays Arrive, New Entrance, Merchandise Preview

This week at Disneyland, the resort is quickly shifting gears from Halloween to the holidays as the start of the Christmas celebration at Disneyland and the official opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure quickly approaches.

In our previous update, we shared a look at the Magic Key previews for the ride, a new restaurant lounge, and some construction updates throughout the resort. This week, we have a look at the Christmas decor showing up around the parks, construction updates for projects around the resort, and more.

Disneyland train station covered in scrims

There is still work occurring on the Main Street Train Station. The building is covered with scrims and scaffolding as you can see in the photo above. Work on the station has been going on for a while now.

Snow had already appeared on the castle even before the end of the Halloween celebration, but it has been further decorated since and is a beautiful sight ahead of the start of the holiday celebration!

Christmas decorations are also showing up around the park. See the decorated Frontierland sign below!

Disneyland Christmas decorations have also started to appear in New Orleans Square as well!

While the official start of Christmas at Disneyland is November 15, guests visiting sooner can still enjoy the decorations that are being put up around the park. One of the best parts of visiting Disneyland during the holidays is enjoying decorations like these all across the park.

The Haunted Mansion retail shop is making big progress! Its exterior has made huge strides since when we last shared an update on this.

Here's another look at the shop's progress with the Haunted Mansion and Tiana's Bayou Adventure in the background.

It's so nice to be able to enjoy a clearer view of Tiana's Bayou Adventure after all of these months of construction! Here is the view you'll see as you are passing by.

Ray's Berets is one of the two new Princess and the Frog shops in Critter Country that is now open. The new shop offers headwear, apparel, accessories, toys, and more.

Pooh Corner is also decorated for the holidays with cute wreaths and lights above the sign!

Meanwhile in Fantasyland, “it's a small world” Holiday is getting ready for its reopening at the start of the holidays. The ride has been undergoing a longer refurbishment than usual which is taking place in two parts, before and after the Christmas celebration. Toontown is decked out for the holidays with festive wreaths and other decor all across the land!

Toontown is one of the most fun places to visit in the park during this time of year with all of the holiday decor!

Minnie's House is looking especially cute with a festive pink heart wreath and a Christmas tree outside with pink ornaments.

Disney California Adventure Updates

Work continues on the project to install new entry gates at the parks, and construction walls are currently up around some of the entrance to California Adventure. You can read more about these new entry gates here.

Over in Disney California Adventure, holiday decor is starting to show up throughout the park as well. The Grizzly River Run bear now has his holiday sweater on!

The Festival of Holidays booths are starting to appear ahead of the start of the Festival of Holidays next week. You can read about all the Festival of Holidays foods that were recently announced here and access a free PDF printable!

The exterior of The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure is decked out for the holidays, but the ride will be closed for refurbishment until later this month.

San Fransokyo Square has some cute Christmas wreaths beneath the sign on the bridge!

Cars Land is decorated with elaborate decor during the holiday celebration! Here is the Snow Car at the entrance of the land.

During the holiday celebration, there are two Christmas overlays in Cars Land: Mater's Jingle Jamboree and Luigi's Joy to the Whirl!

Make sure to spend some time admiring all of the holiday decor throughout the land!

During our visit, we also saw some Christmas treats appearing in the candy shops ahead of the start of the holiday celebration.

Downtown Disney Updates

Holiday merchandise displays and decor are present in Downtown Disney as we are nearing the start of the Christmas celebration.

We had seen some Christmas merchandise pop up during the past few weeks, but now World of Disney is fully decked out for the holiday season.

Parkside Market continues to make significant progress in its construction. Colorful glass panels have now been added to the building as you can see in the picture below.
