Disneyland Fan-Favorite Parade and Two Nighttime Spectaculars Returning in 2024

Disneyland just announced that there will be two nighttime fireworks spectaculars returning in 2024 along with popular parade.

These returning favorites are in addition to the previously announced Pixar Fest fireworks and new Pixar Parade that was previously announced as part of the full slate of 2024 Disneyland Special Events earlier this month.

Let's dive into what shows are returning and the dates for each of their return. We are thrilled to see Disneyland continuing to roll out further investment in entertainment to delight locals and visitors.

What shows and parade are returning to Disneyland?

We are thrilled that the “Magic Happens” Disneyland parade and “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks are returning during the Spring. The fun “Mickey's Mix Magic” show is also returning to fill in a couple of gaps.

We anticipated that “Mickey's Mix Magic” would return, but were worried that “Wondrous Journeys” would not return to Disneyland until a later day beyond next year. We reviewed “Wondrous Journeys” as one of, if not the, best Disneyland fireworks show we have ever seen. The show perfectly combines crisp projections with fireworks and characters soaring in the sky. See one of the projections below.

When “Mickey's Mix Magic” returns it will have fireworks and projections on some nights and just projections on other nights. This will be the same for the new “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” fireworks. Both of these shows will also be the backdrop for the new music coming to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during Season of the Force. This will be the first time that there is music for the fireworks in Galaxy's Edge.

In what I think is a great move, “Wondrous Journeys” will be presented with fireworks every single night of its run. That choice to present with fireworks every single night makes it much more acceptable that it is a slightly shorter run.

Dates For Return of Popular Shows

The “Magic Happens” parade will return starting February 2, 2024. No end date has been given for this popular Disneyland parade. This parade could continue to run throughout the year as there is no other new daytime parade slated for Disneyland Park. The new Pixar daytime parade is slated for Disney California Adventure.

The two fireworks shows will return for a limited time.

Before the return of “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” on April 26, 2024 as part of Pixar Fest, there will be two other fireworks shows running.

“Mickey's Mix Magic” performs Jan. 8-March 21, 2024 and April 15-25, 2024.

“Wondrous Journeys” returns in spring with fireworks every night of its run from March 22-April 14, 2024.

Other Disneyland Entertainment Returns

There is so much other entertainment ongoing at Disneyland. As we note in my article on my recent trip to Disneyland with my 85-year old grandmother, we always stop to enjoy the Disneyland entertainment throughout the parks. Whether its the Dapper Dans singing on Main Street or the massive World of Color, the incredible live entertainment at the parks is always a highlight of our trip to Disneyland.

There are other entertainment offerings returning to Disneyland like the return of “Fantasmic!” in May.

It's a really good sign that Disneyland is highlighting this entertainment in this way and working hard to keep investing in entertainment in the parks. I am really thrilled to see them investing in getting entertainment into the parks to deliver special offerings for those visiting on vacations and locals alike.
