According to the statement on Disney’s website, “Beginning late November 2025 and continuing throughout 2026, refurbishment work will take place in select areas of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. While Guests may see or hear work during daytime hours, most Resort amenities—including dining, recreation, and merchandise locations—will remain available.”
We do not have any further information on which areas are undergoing refurbishment quite yet. Disney has recently completed work on guests’ rooms and dining. This refurbishment joins another one at BoardWalk Inn. Disney announced in September that Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas will be closed for routine maintenance in 2027.
Other Recent Disney Resort Refurbs
We also just learned that the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance from Jan. 12, 2026, through early April 2026. The dock will be closed and boat transportation will be temporarily suspended from Jan. 12–30. This isn’t the only refurb happening at Wilderness Lodge. Exterior refurbishments will continue through the end of 2026. These updates do not impact resort amenities, but guests may experience an impact on views at certain locations and may hear construction noise during daytime hours.
The closures that tend to make the most buzz are those that will impact Disney transportation. Guests traveling next year should also be aware of the Disney Skyliner closure happening in a similar timeframe. January is a popular time for Disney to complete refurbishments after the busy holiday season comes to an end.
Other recent hotel construction news includes the extension of the room refurbishment at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- Riverside into summer 2027. The room refurbishment was previously scheduled to finish up in the Magnolia Bend of the resort in February 2026.
