Celebrate Soulfully: Summer Vibes will kick off with the previously announced Disney on the Yard Presents Yardfest at Downtown Disney on Juneteenth. The free event celebrates the culture and traditions of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Disney on the Yard launched in 2021 as an ongoing initiative for HBCU alumni working across The Walt Disney Company, as well as for current and prospective students. The program soon led to activations at Disney theme park destinations, including the inaugural Disney on the Yard Presents Yardfest in 2025.

Disney on the Yard Presents Yardfest returns to Downtown Disney on Juneteenth, June 19, 2026, from 5 to 9 PM.

Most of the festivities will take place near the Downtown Disney Live! Stage. Highlights include percussion performances led by Drum Major Mickey Mouse with HBCU drum majors and the Texas Southern University Ocean of Soul Drumline. Those performance showtimes are 5:30, 7:00, and 8:15 PM. Disney says six HBCUs trained Mickey in his high knees and backbends.

Between shows, guests can enjoy a party atmosphere with music by DJ Quami and hosted by content creators Mel Mitchell and Obio Jones.
