For some Disney theme park guests, restaurants and food are just as much a reason to visit as riding the attractions. An uptick in guest spending on dining was among the top reasons why Disney theme parks increased their revenue last quarter. Disneyland Resort leadership is aware of this and has plans for meeting guests’ dining demands with exciting new concepts.
Nine new and reimagined restaurants are expected to be in development and/or under construction at Disneyland Resort, including Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. We have the full list and what to expect from each eatery. Disneyland also just recently reopened the Napa Rose restaurant. Be sure to see that review. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including rating Disneyland’s most expensive meals and Disney’s plans for using AI in theme parks.

1. Porto’s Bakery & Café

Porto’s Bakery & Café, a Southern California staple, is coming to Downtown Disney. The Disney location of this popular chain will serve Porto’s familiar Cuban-inspired pastries, cakes, and savory dishes.
Porto’s will be located on the former site of La Brea Bakery, Earl of Sandwich, and Earl of Sandwich Tavern. It will massively expand the previous footprint of the La Brea Bakery location. They also demolished nearby ticket booths to build the new location. Disney has other plans for Earl of Sandwich, which we explain below.

Construction for Porto’s is underway, but there’s a long way to go. The photo above was captured in April 2026, showing Porto’s future home behind construction walls with a mound of dirt visible.
2. Bopo Go!

Bopo Go! is coming to Downtown Disney, specializing in boba tea, aka bubble tea.
Bopo Go! is a spinoff concept of Eric Wang and Philip Wang’s Bopomofo Café, a convenience store in Asia known for its commitment to no artificial ingredients.
Jamba will permanently close to make way for Bopo Go! The final operating day for Jamba is July 5, 2026.

3. Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby

Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is coming to Downtown Disney. Named after Carnaby Street in London, this 1960s-themed British gastropub will be located on the second floor of Earl of Sandwich’s new permanent building. We share more about this upgraded Earl of Sandwich location below.
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby will likely open sometime in 2026, though an opening date has not been announced. Hiring was underway in March 2026, indicating a good sign toward opening.
This newly built location is nearby Din Tai Fung and Parkside Market. This is the old site of the AMC Theaters.
4. Edelweiss Lodge
Edelweiss Lodge is an expansion of Edelweiss Snacks in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park.
Edelweiss Snacks is known for turkey legs and bratwursts, and recently added cheesy pretzel bread to its menu. In the photo above, the building on the right is entirely new. Disneyland recently filed a permit listing “Edelweiss Lodge” as the name of this venue. It is unclear if it is just an extension of the existing seating area or will cause the location to change or revamp its menu.
Other than that, Disney hasn’t formally revealed details about what to expect when the construction walls come down. All the same, the construction of a new building in the middle of Disneyland’s tightly spaced layout is notable and impressive.
Edelweiss Snacks remains open during construction.
5. Earl of Sandwich
Earl of Sandwich is opening a new permanent location at Downtown Disney. This beloved guest favorite has moved around Downtown Disney multiple times over the past several years.
Its former permanent location was bulldozed to build Porto’s Bakery & Café. Guests can currently find their Earl of Sandwich favorites at a pop-up location near Downtown Disney’s Star Wars Trading Post.
The new building will be located near Downtown Disney LIVE!, finally providing a permanent home for “the world’s greatest hot sandwich.”
The two-story Earl of Sandwich will feature Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby on its second floor. Hiring for both restaurants began in March 2026, indicating they may open sooner rather than later.
6. Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon

Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon, a full-service steakhouse, is coming to Downtown Disney. This restaurant, from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori, already has locations in New York and the Hamptons.
Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon will be located on a portion of the former Tortilla Joe’s space.
Disney has not announced an opening timeframe for Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon. The progress on this has been slow and seemed to come to a halt for multiple months.
7. Pearl’s Roadside BBQ

Pearl’s Roadside BBQ is coming to Downtown Disney. The quick-service restaurant will serve pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked wings.
Pearl’s Roadside BBQ will share a few commonalities with Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon, the steakhouse described above. Both eateries come to Downtown Disney from Chef Joe Isidori and will collectively replace Tortilla Joe’s.
We are thinking of these two new restaurants as comparably linked in the same way that Centrico, Tiendita, and Paseo share a kitchen.
8. Coco Restaurant

These last two items on this list are speculative. They are tied to the new Disneyland rides that have been announced. There will absolutely be restaurants and dining locations tied to the new attractions, but we are still waiting on all these specifics. This is what may happen.
We expect a new Coco restaurant to open alongside the future Coco ride at Disney California Adventure. While Disney has not explicitly announced any dining to accompany the Coco ride, recent patterns for ride openings and Disney’s increasing prioritization of dining lead us to believe a restaurant is likely part of Coco’s rollout.
Plaza de Coco, a two-part Coco dinner show, is part of the Disney Treasure cruise sailings, depicting Santa Cecilia from the film in rich detail and including live character appearances by Miguel and his family. Something of an identical scale would be a stretch for Disney California Adventure, but some form of this concept, adapted for the park, could be fun.
Given the limited space Disney will have left after constructing the Coco ride building, a theoretical Coco restaurant at Disney California Adventure likely wouldn’t be a completely new build, but rather a conversion of the existing Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, Paradise Garden Grill, or both. These quick-service dining locations are located adjacent to the Coco ride construction site, and already serve seasonal Coco-inspired food during the annual Plaza de la Familia event. The popularity of these dining and entertainment offerings in some ways was the predecessor to the new ride.
This approach could mirror Casa de Coco, a quick-service restaurant at Disneyland Paris that reimagined the park’s former Fuente del Oro Restaurante. The image above is of the exterior of that Disneyland Paris restaurant.
9. Avatar Restaurants in Pandora

A new land based on the Avatar films is coming to Disney California Adventure. Since this is an entirely new area rather than a singular attraction, it will likely include a restaurant.
The Avatar land at Disney California Adventure will not be a clone of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That said, we can look to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for an idea of how Imagineers may introduce a Pandoran eatery to the new land.
Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has two dining locations. Satu’li Canteen is a large quick-service restaurant, themed as the former mess hall of the human military presence on Pandora. Pongu Pongu is a drink stand “run by an expat who fell in love with Pandora and never left,” according to Disney’s backstory.
Both of the offerings at Walt Disney World are big hits. We have written multiple times about how Satu’li Canteen is worth planning a day around. Any version of that restaurant would be a wonderful addition to Disney California Adventure.
Which of these are you most excited for? Do you agree on our takes on these final ones? Let me know in the comments.
