Walt Disney World is home to over 25 resort hotel properties across its 43 square miles. Disney regularly updates its hotels, whether for routine maintenance or to introduce modern design elements. They also have to work on the transportation that serves the resorts.
Several Disney World hotels will have upcoming refurbishments of their guest rooms, pools, restaurants, and transportation options. Keep reading to learn if your hotel will be impacted by the refurbishment calendar. As always, dates are subject to change. Disney World Resort Room Refurbishments
The Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be refurbished in the coming months. Disney shared this news in March 2026 and did not mention an exact start date. The work will be finished in mid-September 2026.

Guest rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, pictured above, will be refurbished starting in late May 2026 and expected to be complete in late January 2027. Though Disney has not announced what will specifically change about the rooms, we have an idea of what could happen during the refurbishment. Disney will update the rooms on a rolling construction schedule, where sections are closed progressively rather than the entire resort at once.
Resort Pool Refurbishments
At Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Surfboard Bay Pool, pictured above, closed in January 2026 and will reopen in late April 2026. The Grand Slam leisure pool remains open. Guests of Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort can also use the pools at the nearby Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the Bay Cove Pool, the Cove Bar, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa all closed for maintenance in January 2026 and will reopen in early May 2026. The resort’s other pool, Bay Lake Pool, remains open during this time.
The Admiral leisure pool at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and the Tidal leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Resort both closed for refurbishment in January 2026 and will reopen in early May 2026. Still open for guests of both resorts are the Dunes Cove leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Villas and the centrally located Stormalong Bay, complete with a water slide themed to a shipwreck and a lazy river. Stormalong Bay is one of our favorite pools in Disney World.
Luna Park Pool and Luna Park Crazy Play Area at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will be closed starting January 11, 2027, and will reopen sometime in April 2027. This pool is also one of the best in Disney World, featuring a slide themed like a wooden roller coaster!

Resort Restaurant Refurbishments

The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience will finally reopen on March 19, 2026, at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa after being closed for six years! One of the final holdouts from the 2020 pandemic closure, The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience returns with a new menu and an updated look, seen in the before-and-after shot above.
Crew’s Cup Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort closed in February 2026 and will reopen in May 2026.
The various components of the Turf Club at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will close for refurbishment soon.
- The Turf Club Lounge will be closed from mid-April to early August 2026.
- The Turf Club Bar and Grill will operate via a pop-up bar and modified menu from mid-April to early August 2026.
- The Turf Club patio will be closed from early August to mid-August 2026.
- The Turf Club Bar and Grill will be completely closed from mid-August to mid-September 2026.
Yachtsman Steakhouse, a fancy restaurant with a dress code at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, will temporarily close on May 11, 2026. The restaurant will reopen sometime in early August 2026, though an exact reopening date has not been announced.
Leaping Horse Libations, the pool bar at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, will be closed starting January 11, 2027, and will reopen sometime in April 2027.
Resort Campus Refurbishments
The tennis courts and basketball courts onsite at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be closed starting March 23, 2026, and will reopen sometime in June 2026.
Beginning March 23, 2026, Disney will begin an exterior refurbishment on the main tower of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, pictured above. The main tower is the resort’s large, A-frame-shaped building that the monorail passes through. While we don’t know exactly what kind of work will be happening, we don’t expect any major design changes, especially considering guests will still be staying in rooms while this exterior work takes place.
Disney will perform repairs on exterior elevator landings of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort from late March through early May 2026.
Additionally, the Skyway Bridge, which connects Bay Lake Tower to the main tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, will be closed in spurts during periods of lower traffic. The bridge will be closed Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from March 30 – May 1, 2026. Outside of those select hours, the Skyway Bridge will remain open.

The following resorts are undergoing exterior refurbishments through late 2026:
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, seen above in March 2026
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will also experience refurbishment “in select areas” “throughout 2026,” Disney says. Additionally, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently in an extended periods of ongoing refurbishment through early 2027. During this time, specific projects may be added to the refurbishment calendar in addition to the specific items listed in this article.
Resort Transportation Refurbishment
The boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is currently under refurbishment through late July 2026, an extension from the previously planned completion of April 2026.
Boat transportation to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will not be available from April 13 – May 1, 2026, according to WDWNT. Outside of those dates, dock work may be ongoing through July 2026, but boat transportation will still be offered. Bus transportation to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge remains available as usual.
The Disney Skyliner gondola system will be closed for its annual refurbishment from January 27–30, 2027. The closure of the Disney Skyliner affects transportation options at the following resorts:
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Villas
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
- Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
In lieu of Disney Skyliner transportation at the above resort hotels, Disney typically provides additional bus transportation.
