During the most recent room refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort less than a decade ago, the rooms introduced a fold-out bed from the wall, new flooring, and other updates both cosmetic and utilitarian.
The updated rooms, pictured above, also replaced decorative flourishes specific to the movies represented at the resort in favor of imagery of Mickey and friends in the style of Disney Channel’s 2010s Mickey Mouse cartoon series and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Rooms were refurbished at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in 2025, pictured above. This may or may not provide some indication of what to expect from the refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, as both properties fall within the same hotel tier of being value resorts. One main difference we notice offhand is the large rug in Pop Century’s room.
The lobby and food court of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort received a makeover a year ago, as did those at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort, all fellow value hotels.
The refurbishment of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort rooms is expected to be complete in late January 2027.
Disney will update the rooms on a rolling construction schedule, where sections are closed progressively rather than the entire resort at once. To be clear, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will remain open during construction. However, guests staying here might expect a few impacts to their visit.

How the Refurbishment May Affect Your Stay
Guests staying overnight at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort from late May 2026 through late January 2027 might be affected by the room refurbishment construction in several small ways.
Construction may be visible or audible to guests throughout the refurbishment process. However, Disney is always mindful to perform construction during daytime hours. We don’t expect guests to be disrupted by construction noises while trying to sleep.
During the refurbishment, some walkways throughout the resort may be temporarily closed. In such instances, Disney may implement alternate pathways to use instead.
The refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort only pertains to guest rooms. Amenities property-wide are unaffected. This resort’s main amenities include two pools, a kiddie pool, a playground, and an arcade, all of which we expect to stay open throughout the rooms’ construction.
