This Disneyland Restaurant is One of the Lowest Rated on Yelp, We Think it Is Completely Underrated

Disneyland is filled with dozens of appealing dining options, from famous table-service restaurants like the Blue Bayou to fan-favorite quick-service locations like Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. While each Disneyland restaurant offers a unique experience, there are certain favorites (and least favorites) that have emerged in the eyes of visitors.

We previously covered some of the Disneyland restaurants with the worst ratings on Yelp, and some of these made sense to us, while others were quite surprising. We were especially sad to see one restaurant in particular, which was actually the lowest-rated one on the list. This restaurant is not necessarily the flashiest option at the parks, but it recently got some great new menu items as part of the area's larger reimagining that we really enjoy.

Does This Disneyland Restaurant Deserve Its Bad Rating?

Personal tastes vary, and there will always be some restaurants that fall short in our eyes. Visitors will even avoid some of the most popular Disneyland restaurants after having a bad or underwhelming experience. However, we think that one particular San Fransokyo restaurant doesn't deserve all of the bad ratings it's been receiving.

Lucky Fortune Cookery is a quick-service restaurant in Disney California Adventure serving Asian-inspired dishes. In addition to menu items like its Teriyaki Chicken, it also gained several appealing new offerings as part of the reimagining of Pacific Wharf into San Fransokyo Square with items like Beef Birria Ramen, Karaage-inspired Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Yaki Udon, and Baymax Macaron.

Unfortunately, Lucky Fortune Cookery currently has a 2.9 on Yelp and a number of negative reviews. Guests have expressed disappointment with things like the quality and flavor of food and long wait times. We do agree that the ordering line can be painfully long and slow for this restaurant, so we absolutely recommend mobile ordering here to dodge the wait as much as you can.

However, especially with some of the new items that have been recently added since the opening of San Fransokyo Square that we mentioned above, we would expect that the ratings would be overall higher for this restaurant. The crispy chicken sandwich and Yaki Udon are particular standouts, and the Baymax macaron is a really cute offering, as this type of dessert is not common at the park outside of the festivals.

Many of the lower reviews of the restaurant on Yelp are still left over from the complete refresh of the area and food offerings, but it still does receive some lower ratings even now.

Despite the criticism, this restaurant still makes our list of the best Disneyland restaurants ranked and is a good choice when looking for a quick meal at Disney California Adventure. We have not personally experienced some of the issues with the flavor and quality that have been detailed in the reviews and would certainly go to this restaurant sooner than some of the other locations that made the list of the worst Disneyland restaurants according to Yelp.
