Universal Studios Hollywood Adds Most Popular Ride to Express Pass

Super Nintendo World has been an extremely successful new addition at Universal Studios Hollywood since the land's opening last year, introducing immensely popular experiences like Toadstool Cafe and the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge ride.

In Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, guests don special augmented reality (AR) goggles and race through immersive courses, battling Team Bowser and collecting coins to win the Golden Cup. It ranks near the top of our list of the best Universal Studios Hollywood rides and has been the longest line in the park since it first opened, with wait times that are often 2 hours or even as long as 3 hours during peak times of the year like Halloween.

Now, Universal Studios Hollywood has announced that the popular Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge has been added to Express Pass! Keep reading for more details and our experience using Express Pass for the ride.

Until now, Bowser's Challenge has been accessible via standby wait only. Universal Studios Hollywood utilized a virtual queue for the land itself when it first opened, but this has not been required for a long time. There is still also a Super Nintendo Land Early Access ticket for the land that allows for early access.

Now, Bowser's Challenge has been added to Express Pass, the paid line-skipping service at Universal Studios Hollywood. You can see everything you need to know about Express Pass at Universal Studios Hollywood here.

Lindsay was at Universal today and shared – “Using Express Pass today for Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge was a seamless experience and we waited only five minutes before the preshow. I anticipate the Express Pass line will get a bit longer once guests realize it's been added but Universal Studios Hollywood wouldn't have added it if they weren't confident it would still deliver the value of Express Pass.”

She continued saying, “The line is easy to find right when you enter the queue and guests still see the entire queue and all the details as it runs parallel to the standby line. This is not always the case for Express Pass so it's great guests can still enjoy the details of this immersive line when using it.”
