New Star Tours Scenes Coming to Disney Parks – Date Announced!

Disney has announced that Star Tours will soon travel to new Star Wars destinations. The attraction is currently available at Disneyland Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, and Disneyland Paris in France and will be updated at all locations.
The attraction first debuted at Disneyland in 1987 as the first Star Wars attraction at any Disney Park. Disney updated that version of Star Tours in 2010 to include the ability to swap in different stories. Star Tours NEW Scenes Coming Soon
Star Tours at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris will all be receiving more than “250 storyline variations” which includes a visit to the planet Peridea from the Ahsoka series.
These new scenes include new locations and characters from “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian.” We are especially excited that Baby Yoda, aka Grogu will be joining the Mandalorian sequence. This is ahead of the new Star Wars Mandalorian movie coming soon. This is a huge update to Star Tours! You can watch the promo video released by Disney below:
Star Tours New Scenes Opening Date
The official opening date of these new Star Tours scenes will be April 5th 2024 at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland Paris. This is also the same day that Season of the Force debuts at Disneyland so these new scenes are a part of the Disneyland Star Wars celebration. This Star Wars focused event will also feature the return of Hyperspace Mountain, a new perspective on the fireworks from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, themed food, beverages, merchandise and more.
I anticipate this first opening date will see large demand for Star Tours and this would be a good day to consider purchasing Genie+ to access the attraction via the Lightning Lane. What's Happening With New Star Tours Scenes
Over the years the Star Tours ride has been updated multiple times with new scenes since the new version of the attraction opened in 2010.
Lead Imagineer for the Star Wars projects, Scott Trowbridge, announced at Star Wars Celebration in London that new scenes will be coming to Star Tours in 2024. He also shared that new scenes would be added during the Celebration event last year. They did not share a date when they mentioned it last year.
He shared that the scenes will reflect stories that have not yet been shared on screen from Star Wars. Trowbridge mentioned that the new scenes will come from many of the new projects that have been announced over the last couple of days at the Star Wars Celebration.
The Star Tours attraction is a simulator ride that mixes together a varying set of Star Wars-themed scenes as you tour through the Galaxy. The attraction was most recently updated with new scenes in 2019 when the Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker film was released.
Notably, during the celebration, Disney announced Daisy Ridley will be back playing Rey in a new Star Wars film, two other new Star Wars films, more details on the Ahsoka series, and other big news.
