Disneyland Ride “Trick” Causes G-Force If You Do This

Disneyland's thrill rides are extremely popular with guests, whisking them away on high-speed adventures in intricately themed worlds. While these attractions are fun to experience no matter what, there is a certain trick that we always like to utilize on one of our favorite roller coasters. We always utilize this trick whenever we ride this iconic attraction.

Keep reading for more details about this trick that will actually make one particular ride experience even better than it already is! We find this trick too cool not to share.

Disneyland Ride Trick

Big Thunder Mountain Disneyland

This ride trick is for one of our favorite Disneyland attractions and one of the best Disneyland roller coasters, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This Frontierland attraction is the “wildest ride in the wilderness” that takes you on an adventure aboard a runaway train through a haunted gold mine. You'll enter a dark cave with stalactites and pass under a waterfall, then your train speeds up and whips around the track with several sharp turns and drops.

During the first part of the ride, you'll ascend the second chain lift, then slow as you encounter a sign with the words “DANGER! Blasting Area Ahead.” Then, you'll encounter the iconic Big Thunder Mountain goat bleating at you with a stick of dynamite in its mouth before the train speeds up dramatically as it dips into a turn.

This is where the trick comes in! When you see the goat, you'll want to lock your eyes on it and keep staring at it as the coaster descends and you enter the turn. This has the effect of making you feel like you are going faster, as you are tricking your inner ear into interpreting the G-forces differently. You'll feel the full effect if you are sitting in the back row!

At a speed of about 35 mph, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is not the fastest roller coaster at the parks (that spot goes to the Incredicoaster!), but if you utilize the goat trick, this particular moment of the ride will be super intense! We recommend trying this the next time you ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
