PHOTOS! Disneyland CONSTRUCTION Continues on New Ride & Current Closures, Plus New Merch and More
There is a lot happening at Disneyland right now, from the construction of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening later this year to the closure of some major rides for refurbishment.
We are at the parks weekly and here to provide you with updates as all of the projects in progress at the resort continue to develop. Today, we have a look at the new greenery that has been added for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as the attraction’s exterior takes shape, the newly reopened Astro Orbitor, some of the ride refurbishments currently happening, and some new merchandise that has appeared at Disneyland.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Construction Update
As the construction for Tiana's Bayou Adventure continues at Disneyland, there is still a great deal of scaffolding present around the mountain, but you can see that greenery is being added to the exterior. While Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland is still a ways behind the version that will be opening this summer at Disney World, you can see that the exterior of the attraction is starting to take shape.
For comparison, below is the exterior of Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disney World which is in a later stage of construction.

Astro Orbitor Reopens
The Astro Orbitor has now reopened in Tomorrowland after being closed for refurbishment. Seeing the construction walls down for Season of the Force is a welcome sight! The ride looks beautifully refreshed and it is great to have this icon of Tomorrowland back.

Earl of Sandwich Pop-Up Location
We previously shared the news that Earl of Sandwich would be getting a temporary pop-up location as the Downtown Disney reimagining makes progress. We know that the fan-favorite Porto's Bakery will eventually be taking Earl of Sandwich's spot, but Disney hasn't yet announced details on when the current Earl of Sandwich location will close to start construction.
You can see a picture of the new Earl of Sandwich pop-up location above which is located near the Star Wars Trading Post. The pop-up location is not yet in use.
When the current location for Earl of Sandwich eventually closes, it will be getting a new two-story location in Downtown Disney, with a quick-service shop on the ground level and a table-service gastropub upstairs. See everything you need to know about the Downtown Disney expansion in our guide!
New Merchandise at The Star Trader
There is also some colorful new merchandise available at The Star Trader in Tomorrowland featuring Ewoks and more favorite Star Wars characters! You can explore new Star Tours apparel here that arrived as part of Season of the Force as well.
Disney California Adventure Ride Refurbishments
As refurbishment continues for the Incredicoaster, one of the most intense roller coasters at the parks, the signature loop has been temporarily removed. This is definitely a bit of an odd sight for fans of the ride to see! The Incredicoaster is supposed to reopen on April 19, 2024. This attraction has already had a closure within in the past six months and we were surprised to see them closing down this attraction again. Must have been some additional maintenance needed. The previous closure was in November/December of 2023. Perhaps that was just preventative maintenance to get them through that busiest season.
The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is also closed for refurbishment, and there is no reopening date that has been listed yet. If you are looking for a quiet place in Disney California Adventure to take a break from the crowds, however, you should explore Grizzly Peak Pass, one of our favorite secret spots at the park.
