New Characters Coming to Mickey's Toontown – Pete and Clarabelle Cow

The reopening of Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland will be accompanied by the presence of the longest-recurring character in Disney's history: Pete. Clarabelle Cow is also joining the gang of characters meeting guests.

Read our full guide to Disneyland Toontown. We went on an early hard hat tour of the land.

This the first time that Pete is meeting guests at any Disney Park.

The massive anthropomorphic cat was a long-time rival to Mickey and his friends until he experienced a change of heart. Now, instead of engaging in villainous escapades, he cherishes his friends and rests easy knowing that all he has to do is be himself. Pete loves good competition, and he still keeps a sense of slight mischief!

Pete has never met guests at any Disney Park before, so we’re excited to see him. Pete's character has evolved dramatically over the years, and that's because he's had time to—he is even older than Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, as he debuted in the 1920s Alice Comedies. Pete will make appearances as he causes mischief around the neighborhood of Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland.

Mickey and Minnie

Mickey and Minnie will also be saying hello! The iconic duo will be greeting guests as Toontown welcomes back visitors. Mickey Mouse will be sporting a new outfit when he meets guests outside his home.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway has already opened, inviting guests to buckle up for a wild adventure where “the laws of physics don't apply” and all bets are off! Prepare for a relaxing ride to turn into a thrilling adventure through a vibrant cartoon landscape. This ride is a big deal for Mickey and Minnie, as it's the first ride out of all the Disney parks that stars Mickey Mouse and friends.

Donald Duck and Daisy Duck

Donald Duck and Daisy Duck will also be making an appearance! The Donald Duck Boat has been reimagined as part of Toontown's opening, and there is no one better to greet new visitors to the attraction than these two.

Donald’s Boat, in its reimagined form, has “crashed in the duck pond of Goofy's home!” Huge spinning water lilies, balance beams, and a splash pad (with water springing from the side of the boat) will provide kids with a world of fun. Daisy Duck still remains the pink-clad figurehead of the vessel, and we can find some drying garments of Donald's hung way up high (out of the splash zone!). As the weather heats up, the duck pond will be the first stop for kids to cool down.

Goofy meets guests at Mickey's Toontown

Goofy will be present to usher in some exciting changes to his home, including his brand new How-To-Play Yard and reimagined Goofy's House. Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard provides a grassy area for kids to run around and play in, featuring a sound garden that they can interact with. Inside Goofy's House, they will find colorful “drips of honey” being transported straight from the beehive situated atop the house and a candy-making machine front and center. The room is interactive, filled with silly sounds and just the right amount of Goofy-inspired chaos, and kids can try their hand at sorting the candy around.

Pluto

While Pluto doesn't have any new attractions, he will certainly be there to welcome guests! As Mickey's loyal pal since 1930, he'll be right by Mickey's side wandering Toontown as it reopens.
