Park Vue Inn Review – Across the Street from Disneyland

The Park Vue Inn is directly across the street from Disneyland Resort and only a five minute walk away from the Disneyland entrance. Our Park Vue Inn Review covers all the pros and cons of staying at this nearby Anaheim hotel.

One of the greatest advantages about staying at the Park Vue Inn is the proximity to the Disneyland Resort. The walk from our room to park security took less than four and a half minutes. That reason alone should put Park Vue Inn on your radar!

Park Vue Inn Review- Disneyland Entrance

My family recently stayed at the Park Vue Inn for a five night visit at the Disneyland Resort and because this was our first trip to Disneyland without a stroller along for my two young children, choosing a hotel with close proximity to the parks was our highest priority – and Park Vue Inn delivered!

Overview of the Park Vue InnPark Vue Inn Review

Built in 1962 and recently renovated, the Park Vue Inn is a boutique hotel located right on Harbor Boulevard directly across the street from the Disneyland Resort. The Park Vue Inn has a two-floor layout with no elevators and the individual room doors are accessed from the outside, as in typical motel-style. So be aware, if your room is located on the second floor, you will need to schlep your luggage up the stairs.

Check In and Check Out

Park Vue Inn provides free cancellation with every reservation, as long as the cancellation is made with more than 48 hours notice. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am.

Because of a last minute change with our rental car and needing to drop it off earlier than we expected, we were a few hours early for check in at the Park Vue Inn and our room was not quite ready. We were kindly allowed to store our luggage at the front desk and take advantage of the hotel pool. We were very grateful for this opportunity to go swim while we waited and our room was ready at the time we expected.

The service was friendly and accommodating and check in was quick. Check out was also a breeze as it was entirely online and we could leave our key cards in the room.

Park Vue Inn Room Review

With 86 rooms available at the Park Vue Inn, options include:

  • Traditional two Queens
  • Single Queen and a Bunk Bed
  • Single King
  • Two Queens and a Bunk Bed
  • Three Queens
  • ADA traditional two Queens

As a family of four, we are suckers for a bunk bed so we went with the single queen and a bunk bed option. The room was pretty tight and definitely not spacious, but since we weren't spending very much time in the room, it wasn't so bad. Larger families might want to look into hotels with bigger rooms.

The queen size bed was comfortable.

Park Vue Inn Review- Bunk Beds

The bunk beds were perfect for our family – but very tight quarters and both sleeping areas were in one space.

The TV was directly in front of the queen size bed and entry so felt a little in the way when someone was watching TV.

Park Vue Inn Review- bathroom

The bathroom was tiny, but the water pressure was good and a hairdryer was provided.

Park Vue Inn Review- coffee cart

Microwave, fridge and small coffee bar.

We bought coffee elsewhere in the mornings so didn't try the coffee provided, but it's here for use!

Small closet – we used the hangers to dry swimsuits!

“No full-service housekeeping” also meant towels were not switched out, but we were able to grab more from the front desk whenever we wanted. By the end of our stay, though, we had quite the stinky pile of towels in our bathroom. I missed housekeeping!

Overall, our Park Vue Inn room provided a safe, clean and cozy place for us to rest after time in the parks.

Tip: I would bring a sound machine and/or ear plugs as it can get a bit noisy on Harbor Boulevard, as well as having your door right next to the parking lot.

Park Vue Inn Review- terrace view

We took advantage of the terrace a couple of times during our stay. After the kids went to bed, my husband and I shared a drink and treats  out on the couches and enjoyed the peek-a-boo views of Space Mountain and the Matterhorn. We could even see the fireworks from this spot!

Park Vue Inn Hotel Pool

The pool at Park Vue Inn is located right in the middle of the parking lot, which might seem like an odd place for a pool, however, the pool is surrounded with large hedges and bushes so felt pretty secluded! There is no lifeguard on duty and towels are conveniently provided at the pool. There is a small hot tub, about six foot in diameter, and the pool is fairly small too with a 3.5 foot shallow end and 6 foot deep end. I wasn't too impressed with the pool furniture as it was a little run down and a bit dirty.

Overall, I would give this pool a fair rating.

Park Vue Inn Review: Breakfast Options

One of the reasons we initially had the Park Vue Inn high on our list to visit, besides the location, was it's free breakfast. Unfortunately, Park Vue Inn has discontinued its free breakfast service so that is no longer an option.

Luckily, the Mickey and Me Gift Shop, located on the first floor of the Park Vue Inn has absolutely everything you could possibly want or need during your stay, including some breakfast items. We picked up cereal and milk here to have a little breakfast snack in our room before heading over to the parks. The cashier even provided us with plastic spoons which was great.

There is an IHOP Restaurant directly next door, as well, that we dined at on the morning of our departure. It was everything you would expect at an IHOP – lots of open tables, lots of food options, kid-friendly, and quick service.

The Cove on Harbor Market is a little convenient store just a short walk down the street, where you can grab a quick coffee and muffin.

Park Vue Inn Hotel Review and Final Thoughts

The first hotel you see exiting Disneyland is the Park Vue Inn!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Park Vue Inn and it was amazing to stay so close to the Disneyland entrance. The close proximity was a lifesaver at the end of an exhausting day in the park with very tired little ones! It also made taking breaks from the parks during the day a breeze.

Pros for staying at the Park Vue Inn

  • Location, location, location!
  • Free parking
  • Really competitive rates
  • Various room options, including bunk beds

Cons for staying at the Park Vue Inn

  • No full-service housekeeping (COVID related precaution)
  • Tiny bathroom and overall tight quarters in the room
  • Small pool and lounge furniture needs an upgrade
  • No continental breakfast
  • Can be loud at times

I will definitely stay at the Park Vue Inn again based just on the proximity to Disneyland alone. The location cannot be beat!
