Best Disneyland Restaurants for Kids

best kids meals at Disneyland Goofy's Kitchen character dining

While you're going to find kid-friendly menu options no matter where you eat at Disneyland, there are certain dining locations that stand out above the rest due to their atmosphere, more exciting menu options, variety, and portion sizes. We take all of these into account when deciding the best Disneyland restaurants that your kids will love.

Many of the quick-service restaurants that we include in our list below are ideal places to grab a fast meal when your kids are getting hungry and the parks are crowded, while the table-service restaurants offer several quality options for kids to choose from.

If you know your kid is a picky eater, many of the restaurants we list below have your standard kid-friendly fare like chicken strips, pizza, mac and cheese, burgers, etc. for their kids meals at Disneyland. If your kid is a more adventurous eater, there are plenty of more exciting options to choose from, especially at the table-service restaurants.

Let's dive into the top Disneyland restaurants for kids and some of the kids meal offerings they can choose from!

1. Alien Pizza Planet

best kids meals at Disneyland Alien Pizza Planet theming

Alien Pizza Planet, located in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, is a quick-service location that has fun theming inspired by the green Aliens from Toy Story that kids will love. You can't go wrong with pizza, and kids-sized pizzas at Alien Pizza Planet are the size of personal pizzas you'd find at most pizza places, which provides some nice quantity for the price of the kids' meals. You can also decide to share a whole pizza and cut down on costs this way rather than ordering separately for your group.

Not a fan of pizza? Alien Pizza Planet also offers the kids' meal “Space-getti with Meatballs.” You also have a variety of healthy salads to choose from for those wanting to eat healthier.

Alien Pizza Planet is an especially good choice when the park is more crowded for a fast option with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with the cute decor that features the green aliens, floating planets, and rockets, make this an ideal restaurant for kids.

Spending the day in Disney California Adventure Park? Head to Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in Paradise Gardens Park for similar food items. Pizza is a great way to get more bang for your buck and get filling kids' meal options!

2. Flo’s V8 Cafe

best kids meals at Disneyland Flo's V8 Cafe

What I absolutely love about Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park is the lineup of food options they offer, from classic burgers and fries to some of our favorite options like Flo's Famous Fried Chicken and Ramone's Low and Slow Club. The food options and theming make this one of our favorite Disneyland quick-service restaurants!

Of course, you’ve got your kid-meal staples on the menu as well including Mack’s Mac & Cheese, Chicken Fenders, and the Micro Burger. Kids will also enjoy Flo's Classic Shake here which comes in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry topped with “road gravel.”

The variety of food on this menu makes it a dinoco-mite dining option for the entire family! The portions are also pretty plentiful and filling making it a nice choice for dinner.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Flo's V8 Cafe is also sure to delight younger kids. The restaurant is a stunning replica of Flo's gas station from the Cars film with rows of vintage-style gas pumps. If you can, we recommend sitting at an outdoor table facing Radiator Springs Racers, as kids will love the view of the cars racing by as they eat! Kids will be extra thrilled when the restaurant is all lit up in beautiful neon after dark.

3. Cozy Cone Motel

best kids meals at Disneyland Cozy Cone Motel

Another Cars Land restaurant with amazing theming that kids will love is the Cozy Cone Motel! This is another location inspired by the Cars film, with five giant orange traffic cones each offering different specialties.

If the act of ordering food from a giant traffic cone isn't already enough fun, kids will also love the comforting food options offered here like the Chili Cone Queso and Bacon Mac ‘n' Cheese (both served in a bread cone) and Chimichangas. There is also no shortage of appealing desserts here between churros, soft serve, and Route Beer Float.

Seating for this location can sometimes be hard to come by, but you can easily take your food across to the seating at Flo's and enjoy your meal there. Wherever you sit, kids are bound to be excited to soak in the detailed theming of Cars Land.

4. Smokejumpers Grill

best kids meals at Disneyland Smokejumpers Grill

Smokejumpers Grill, located in Grizzly Peak at Disney California Adventure, is a quick-service restaurant offering American classics that are sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. We love to mobile order some of our favorite items like the Chipotle BBQ Bacon Burger and Grilled Chicken Salad from this favorite location.

Smokejumpers Grill’s kids' menu offers more favorites including the Double Basecamp Burger and Chicken Tenders. And if this isn’t pleasing enough, take them to the all-you-can-eat, fill-up-your-plate condiment bar! Kids will also love trying the seasonal shake offered here which is consistently one of our favorite Disneyland foods and offers some great flavors.

What makes Smokejumpers Grill a great place to find the best kids' meals at Disneyland is the great portion sizes you receive at this restaurant. Your kids will definitely be full after eating here which will help save you money in the long run.

The interior of the restaurant is designed like an aircraft hangar and has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a convenient option to get a quick and easy meal.

5. Lamplight Lounge

best kids meals at Disneyland Lamplight Lounge

The Lamplight Lounge is our favorite Disney California Adventure table-service restaurant located in Pixar Pier. The restaurant has a patio with a beautiful waterfront view, and the interior restaurant is filled with decor celebrating the artists behind Pixar stories with drawings, film-related memorabilia, and more Pixar touches around every turn.

Lamplight Lounge’s menu is packed with a nice variety of kids' meal options that are sure to please most kids and offer some variety to some of the other standard options you'll find in the parks.

Between the Disney Check Meals and Budding Artists menu for lunch and dinner, you'll find several options including the Burger Slider, Chicken, Pasta, and Meat-Bread-Meat Sandwich. The great twist on basic kids' meal options with healthy sides makes the kid's meals at Lamplight Lounge a step above the rest.

And don't forget brunch! Their brunch menu offers great kids' meal options like Breakfast Burgers, Indulgent French Toast, Brunch Quesadilla, and Omelet.

6. Cafe Daisy

Cafe Daisy, located in Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland Park, is a quick-service restaurant that offers several kid-sized food items that you can conveniently mobile-order. Cafe Daisy is counter-service with outdoor seating where you can enjoy the atmosphere of Toontown.

Cafe Daisy offers kids' menu options that are sure to please a younger crowd including the Cheese Please! or Pepperoni Please! Pizza, Minnie's Mini Corn Dogs, and the Toddler Meal Mini Mac and Cheesy. Kids can also enjoy Daisy's Goody-Goody Donuts for dessert!

Though the menu has a great selection for kids, there are also options for adults here like The Daisy Dog, Daisy's Dressed-Up Dog, and the Cheesy or Pepperoni Pizza Flop-Over as well as a few specialty beverages. This is the perfect place to stop after your kids have enjoyed some fun exploring Toontown!

7. Wine Country Trattoria

Wine Country Trattoria

For adults searching for the best kids' meals at Disneyland, you can truly get the most bang for your buck at this table-service restaurant in Disney's California Adventure Park. Wine Country Trattoria offers alfresco dining in a Mediterranean garden setting with a selection of Italian dishes.

Not only does this restaurant offer many Italian favorites like Chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Rib-Eye Steak, but on the kids' menu there is a great option to customize their meal with the Kids' Create-Your-Own Entrées option. They can choose from Chicken Breast, Whole-Grain Pasta with Marinara and Meatballs, Salmon, Cheese Pizza, and their choice of two selections including fresh fruit, broccoli, or roasted potatoes.

Picky eaters can take pleasure in creating their lunch or dinner any way they like, and parents can feel satisfied with the amount of food they get with the kids' meal options.

8. Carnation Cafe

Carnation Cafe Disneyland

Carnation Cafe is a charming table-service location with outdoor patio seating that puts you right alongside the action of Main Street U.S.A. The restaurant offers one of the best atmospheres in the parks as it whisks you away to a turn-of-the-century setting with cute touches like waiters in vintage dress and candy-striped umbrellas.

Carnation Cafe's menu has some very good choices for the entire family. The dessert menu alone is enough to bribe your picky eater to finish their plates! On the kids' menu, kids can choose from several options like the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, Hamburger Slider, Mac & Cheese, and Chicken-fried Chicken Tender. Kids can choose from sides including seasonal vegetable, seasonal fruit, French fries, and mashed potatoes.

Carnation Cafe is also one of the best breakfast options at the park offering kids' menu items including Silver Dollar Pancakes, Mickey-shaped scrambled eggs, and Mickey-shaped waffles.

But what makes this restaurant such a great choice for kids' meals at Disneyland is the amount of food you get with the kid's meal options! The fries that come on the side are a generous portion and nearly match the size that the adults get.

9. Character Dining Buffets

best kids meals at Disneyland Character Dining

Most families decide to include at least one character dining meal in their foodie itinerary when they visit Disneyland to get a chance to feed their kids while they interact with a variety of Disney characters. This is a great way to make use of your time—meet all these characters in one meal rather than tracking them down and waiting in long park lines for meet and greets.

But you can also rest assured that your kids will be full after a meal at any of the popular character dining options inside Disneyland the Disney-owned hotels. The buffets are all you can eat with a huge variety of breakfast and lunch foods depending on which meal you select.

There are four different Character Dining experiences currently offered at the Disneyland Resort, with each offering a different selection of foods and grouping of characters who will appear. Whether you choose to enjoy Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park, the Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast or Brunch Buffet, Goofy's Kitchen, or Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures, we think Character Dining is worth the splurge. You'll get a lot of value out of the experience between the selection of foods available and the quality time your kids will get with characters.

10. Blue Bayou

Blue Bayou Best Disneyland restaurant

The Blue Bayou, one of the most famous Disneyland restaurants located in New Orleans Square, is one of the other main luxury dining options offered in the theme parks with a price tag to match. Despite the higher price of the adult meals, the kids' meal prices remain pretty standard compared to those around the resort.

What makes this restaurant one of our favorite options at the resort is its incredible atmosphere overlooking the Pirates of the Caribbean ride with boats floating by and lanterns glowing overhead. Kids will love the immersive experience of dining in this restaurant soaking in the sights and sounds of the bayou. I remember as a child I would ask about the restaurant every time we went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and felt delighted when we finally got the opportunity to eat there.

At the Blue Bayou Restaurant, kids have a create-your-own entree option with the choice of roasted chicken, sauteed shrimp, whole-grain pasta, or petite steak, and can choose from sides like the market vegetables, seasonal fruit, steamed rice, or mashed potatoes.

The portions are generous and when you throw in the bread and butter, you will be sure to fill up your kids' bellies at this restaurant. You can't go wrong with picking the Blue Bayou as a candidate for our best kids' meals at Disneyland!

11. Docking Bay 7

Docking Bay 7 Disneyland

While I wouldn't recommend any of the food in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge for picky eaters, if your kids are more adventurous, you can find great kids' meal options at Docking Bay 7.

The kids' meal options here are great quality and a bit more fun than your typical mac and cheese. Although you do have a kids meal option with chicken and mac and cheese! Kids can choose from the Ithorian Garden Patty Bun or the Fried Chicken Tip-Yip Youngling Meal. The portions are not so run-of-the-mill if your kids are sick of eating burgers and mac and cheese.

But if you do have a picky eater, rest assured you can easily just order sides of mac and cheese at Docking Bay 7 so everyone in your group can be happy. The portions for the sides of mac and cheese are very large too making it a great stop for the best kids' meals at Disneyland!

Galaxy's Edge is easily one of the most immersive lands at Disneyland, and this dining option is no exception as it is themed as a working hangar bay, with both indoor and outdoor seating options available. If you want a great view that is sure to excite your kids, you can grab one of the outdoor tables overlooking the Millennium Falcon.
