Nestled slightly off the beaten path at the Disneyland Resort is a restaurant I end up eating at nearly every visit. The restaurant offers both fantastic food and an ease of access that makes this a place I love to pop into.
When I initially shared the restaurant, I specifically talked about lunch and dinner and focused in on the sit-down food offerings. Today, I’ll point out the great breakfast offerings available for sit down or at the sister quick service offering next door. I heard in our comments that people weren’t happy that I was sharing this spot because it’s always such a great option for low crowds and good food.

Secret Disneyland Restaurant Also Has Great Breakfast
As part of my search for great breakfast options at Disneyland, we’ve documented the hotels near Disneyland with breakfast and what they offer, looked at unique quick service breakfasts in Disney California Adventure, and debated the best strategies to get coffee in the morning on your trip.
Today, I wanted to share a look at the breakfast options that I’ve enjoyed recently from my favorite restaurants that I probably eat at the very most during my visits.
The Craftsman Bar and the Craftsman Grill are two restaurants next to each other that both have the same menu throughout the day. They both serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are located just outside of Disney California Adventure in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel via the hotel’s theme park entrance.
The “bar” includes the outdoor sit down area that is my choice when eating lunch or dinner, and the “grill” is the mostly indoor quick service option that has the same menu plus some additional snack and drink options.
I have eaten breakfast multiple times in both areas. Generally, I choose the grill option for breakfast because I am typically in more of a rush in the morning than in the afternoon. The grill option can also be more flexible for families.
There are a variety of great breakfast options here ranging from savory to sweet. I love the egg white omelette and the avocado toast. I’ve also had the breakfast burrito which was very filling and the French toast which was absolutely delicious. The smoked salmon bagel is also fantastic.
Here’s a look at the egg white omelette. I also ordered a side of wheat toast.
And here’s the avocado toast.
Here’s the breakfast burrito. This is from when I sat down for breakfast at the Craftsman Bar.
Here’s the salmon bagel sandwich. This is also from sitting down at the Craftsman Bar area.
While you can attempt to fit in a breakfast here before Disneyland rope drop or Disney California Adventure rope drop, I generally feel pretty rushed during that period and there is always some morning breakfast crowd of people who are also trying to do the same thing to fit in breakfast here.
The times that I’ve enjoyed the breakfast most have actually been when I’ve popped back out of the theme parks two hours or so into the day to enjoy a more leisurely breakfast at that time. When we have done this, there are are barely any people enjoying the restaurant. There are limited seats for the grill just outside that are opposite the door where you come that you’ll only see once you have walked into the quick service space.

This restaurant is open to all guests even those who are not staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort, where the restaurant is located. Part of why I love the restaurant is that it does feel like it’s just for hotel guests. It’s quiet, relaxed, and frankly the smell of the area is just so soothing. The smell comes from the Disney’s Grand Californian Tenaya Spa. The bathrooms located here are some of the most peaceful in the entire resort.
There’s something wonderful about both of these restaurant spaces. They are almost like the eyes of a hurricane in a storm. Completely quiet and comfortable, when not many yards away are many people loudly having lots of fun. Reiterating the same thing I said in the other write-up, having a late breakfast / brunch at this restaurant is another way to bring peace to what can be a very crowded day at the parks.
One final tip – the chocolate brownie with Reeces Pieces which you can pickup in the cases before you check out Craftsman Grill is a delicious treat that’s a perfect sugar pick me up for kids (or adults) later in the afternoon. See it in the photo below. Note that the quiche seen here is no longer on the Craftsman Grill menu.
The next time you need a mid-morning breakfast break at Disneyland, the Craftsman Grill is a great way to go.
