The rides are both set to reopen on April 24, 2026. We previously reported that the Jungle Cruise closure was extended.
Toy Story Midway Mania has no stated reason for refurbishment. Last summer they made a change to the attraction to add in 70 designs on targets and in different scenes of the ride in honor of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary celebration. We expect that these will remain when the ride reopens because that celebration continues through August 9, 2026.
There is also the new Toy Story 5 movie which comes out on June 19, 2026. Perhaps we could see them add in some new characters from that film into the ride? We are also getting a new Toy Story experience at Disney World so they are actively working on promotions tied into the theme parks from the movie.
There is other ongoing work nearby and behind the Toy Story Mania attraction where they are hard at work on creating the new Pixar Coco attraction that is coming to the theme park. Land is almost completely cleared and work is moving forward.

To our knowledge, the Jungle Cruise refurbishment is just a standard closure. Jungle Cruise previous went through a much more substantial refurbishment in 2024, when they reportedly spent close to $600,000 making improvements to the tiger ruins scene. During a recent media business briefing, the head of attraction engineering shared with Mickey Visit that water rides require specific maintenance due to the ongoing issues that are always present with metal in water.
Our assumption is that this refurbishment was just focused on standard upkeep work, but we will update if more information is released.
There are other ongoing refurbishments happening or scheduled to happen at Disneyland including on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Pirates of the Caribbean, Silly Symphony Swings, and more.
These closures are wrapping up at the end of spring break season and as we enter a period where Disney is offering an aggressive $50 per day child discount and other lower prices for summer visits. These are part of an ongoing initiative from Disney to attract young families.
