“Key to Disneyland” Experience with New Discount

Disneyland key

Disneyland Resort in California kicked off its 70th anniversary celebration on May 16, 2025, and will continue the seasonal campaign through August 9, 2026. The actual 70th birthday was July 17, 2025.

The anniversary festivities include limited-time entertainment, food, and merchandise. When the anniversary launched, the new “Key to Disneyland” souvenir went viral for the fun activity and super cute collectible. Here’s how the key and game worked.

Guests who purchase the larger-than-life, light-up Key to Disneyland can search Disneyland Park for nine unique Lock Stations. There is one Lock Station in each land of the park: Main Street, U.S.A.; Adventureland; New Orleans Square; Bayou Country; Frontierland; Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge; Fantasyland; Mickey’s Toontown; and Tomorrowland. We show where to find all of the stations later in this story with photos.

Once guests find all nine Lock Stations, they can visit a final Lock Station to unlock a secret compartment on their Key that contains one of 10 collectible pins. There’s one pin for each land, plus an additional pin depicting the Key to Disneyland itself.

Note that Disney launched the Key to Disneyland in May 2025 with an original set of nine pins, then introduced a new wave of 10 pins in November 2025. The new pins have glitter and are gold-framed. See the differences between the designs in the two photos above.

Effective April 17, 2026, Disney is offering a 33% discount on the Key to Disneyland for all guests. The original price was $59.99, making the discounted cost $40.19 before tax.

This discount is likely due to the 70th anniversary celebration wrapping up in less than four months. Guests who purchase the Key to Disneyland now have much less time to use the product in the park than guests who purchased it full price at the beginning of the celebration.

From the product’s launch in May 2025, Disney was transparent about the Key to Disneyland being a limited-time offering for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary and that the Lock Stations in the park would be removed at the conclusion of the celebration. The product discount likely implies Disney intends to stick to this plan rather than keep the Lock Stations around longer.

This differs from Walt Disney World’s Fab 50 gold statues, which were installed across the resort’s theme parks for its 50th anniversary in 2021 and weren’t removed when the anniversary campaign ended.
