Disneyland Reopens Upgraded Private Theme Park Entrance After Extended Closure

Disneyland has been working for several months to install updated ADA-compliant entry gates for the theme parks across the resort. We recently shared an article on what you need to know about these new Disneyland entry gates and how the facial recognition technology works. The private theme park entrance from Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to Disney California Adventure was the most recent batch of entry gates to be installed, and the entrance was closed for a couple of months as construction took place to introduce these.

Now, the private Grand Californian Disney California Adventure theme park entrance has reopened! Keep reading for a look at the new entry gates here…

Grand Californian Private Entrance Reopens

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel entrance

After a two-month closure, the Grand Californian private theme park entrance has now reopened just ahead of the 70th anniversary celebration start date at Disneyland. During this closure, Grand Californian hotel guests had to use the Pixar Place Hotel entrance, and theme park-facing rooms were impacted by the construction. While use of the entrance can be restricted to hotel guests only during early entry and rope drop, other guests can utilize it outside of those times.

Now, this private theme park entrance is up and running again with updated entry gates replacing the previous turnstiles. The new entry process is a guest-powered system where guests will scan their ticket and have their photo taken for entry to the park.

We know that Disneyland is also beginning work on the Pixar Place Hotel theme park entrance to Disney California Adventure today. Those guests can also access this reopened entrance, but it is a slightly farther walk. You can see more details on that closure and how long it will last in our separate announcement here.
