We recently shared the news that the private theme entrance to Disney California Adventure from Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is closed due to construction for a period of time. This private theme park entrance is one of the major perks of staying at this upscale hotel, and upon initially learning about this news, we wondered how this would impact the rooms right above.
These theme park view rooms overlooking Disney California Adventure at the Grand Californian are considered the most premium rooms in all of Anaheim and at the Disneyland-owned hotels. However, with the theme park entrance construction, these rooms in particular are currently being negatively impacted by the noise.
Keep reading for details and a heads up if you have this room type booked at the Grand Californian during the next couple of months…

Construction Noise at Disney's Grand Californian

As we previously shared, the Disney's Grand Californian theme park entrance to Disney California Adventure is currently closed for construction on the entry gates. We anticipate this is the same work to install new entrance gates taking place across the resort. This closure is expected to last until mid-May, and in the meantime, guests can use the Pixar Place Hotel entrance for entry to the park.
While all of the Grand Californian guests are impacted by the change to this private entrance perk, those staying in the premium “theme park view” rooms overlooking the theme park entrance are affected in particular. You can see in the photo below how these rooms are right above the active construction.
The old gates are being completely ripped out and they must have had to tear up the cement to do this because some guests reported jack-hammer noise.
Instagram user beckyb42 commented how the construction is impacting her current stay in one of these theme park view rooms: “I’m staying here right now and they never gave any heads up prior to check-in. Plus my room is literally right above the entrance and I got to listen to jack hammering all afternoon when I was trying to rest. To think I was so excited I got a theme park view upgrade my first night before the closure!” This comment was on a post shared by Bridget @californiadisneybliss.

While this construction noise likely won't be going on for a long time as the work will likely turn to installing the new turnstile gates soon, you'll definitely want to be aware of this if you have booked one of these premium rooms overlooking the theme park entrance, especially if you're planning on taking a mid-day break in your room.
