New Disneyland Entrance Gates Installed, Testing Expected Soon

Disneyland has brought down the construction walls for new entrance gates at the front of the parks.

We previously shared when the testing began on these new gates for the Disney California Adventure entrance and now it appears testing will start soon at Disneyland.

So what's the big deal about these new gates? Keep reading to see why we're excited for this change to come soon.

MagicBand+ Touch Points Coming Soon

Disneyland new gates

These new entrance gates feature similar scanners for MagicBands that Walt Disney World currently uses. This drastically improves upon the time to enter the park rather than waiting for cast members to pull up the screen on their tablets to scan in those with MagicBands.

This new entry gate has already been in use at Disney California Adventure and has been in the testing process since late September 2024, however those gates are not currently open to all guests entering the parks.

The quicker guests can enter the park, the better the lines, especially in the morning when you are arriving for Disneyland rope drop! These new gates will be ADA-compliant so that guests in ECVs, wheelchairs, and strollers can also use them.

Construction Walls Coming Down

On our previous coverage of these new gates, you can see the construction walls that went up in the left of this photo. The walls are now down as of today and we expect testing for these new entrance gates to begin soon. The below photos were shared by our friends at Fresh Baked.

We will keep you updated on if these gates are fully activated for use by all guests in the coming weeks. This could be a good gate to aim for when you arrive early in the morning the next few weeks during the busy holiday season as lines may move faster at this gate if guests are using MagicBands. If they are unveiling the gates today, we would expect that they'll have them ready to be used in the coming weeks during the busy holiday period.
