These Are Our Top 5 Comforting Disneyland Foods We Like to Eat on A Rainy Day

Rainy days at Disneyland are not all too common thanks to the pleasant Southern California weather most times of year, but every now and then there will be some gloomier days when you might crave something warm in your stomach. These are our favorite comforting Disneyland meals that we love on a rainy day!

Visiting during a rainy day can actually be a great thing as the rain will often deter locals from visiting the parks, leading to lower crowd levels.

House Gumbo at Tiana’s Palace

Tiana’s Palace only recently opened at Disneyland, but it has quickly made the list of one of the best Mickey Visit Disneyland restaurants. A particular standout for a rainy day is the House Gumbo with braised chicken, andouille sausage, and heirloom rice. We also love that there’s a great vegetarian gumbo option here. The 7 Greens Gubmo contains okra, yams, sweet potatoes, and heirloom rice. This is a great filling meal for a colder day!

You can mobile order this meal, but this is the one restaurant we actually advise not mobile ordering from because the presentation is a lot nicer on the ceramic plates than the plastic to-go containers.

Jolly Holiday Combo at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

Another one of our favorite rainy-day meals is the Jolly Holiday Combo at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. This is a toasted cheese sandwich with tomato basil soup. This is one of our favorite cheap and satisfying meals at Disneyland.

Personally, I am not a big tomato soup fan, but I will say that there is something special about this particular tomato soup that is just so good! This is one of the best meals at Disneyland that is always reliably delicious. If you’re visiting during a time when there is a seasonal sandwich on the menu like the Birria Toasted Cheese Sandwich, I recommend getting this with the tomato soup on the side as a twist on the concept of the Jolly Holiday Combo. This is my go-to meal when the Birria Toasted Cheese is on the menu.

Hearty Chili in a Sourdough Bread Bowl from the Refreshment Corner

Refreshment Corner has some great rainy-day options, including a Hearty Chili in a sourdough bread bowl topped with shredded cheese. You can also opt for mac & cheese in a sourdough bread bowl or mac & cheese chili as some other comforting options.

There is also a new item here that makes for a hearty meal: the Birria Potato! This contains beef birria and pepper jack cheese topped with salsa verde in a baked potato. This item has gotten a lot of attention since it recently debuted.

The Troubadour Baked Potato from Troubadour Tavern

Another cozy rainy day meal at Disneyland is the Troubadour Baked Potato from Troubadour Tavern. This is a classic baked potato with butter, sour cream, bacon bits, and green onions. This is the ultimate warm comfort food for a cold, rainy day!

Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl (Multiple Quick-Service Locations)

Lastly, if you’re feeling like a hearty soup or mac in a bread bowl, there are some great options around Disneyland! These soups will often rotate seasonally, but there is always a similar offering you can enjoy on a rainy day. Or, if you're not a soup person, a bowl of mac and cheese is perfect to warm you up when it's cold outside!

At Royal Street Veranda, you’ll currently find Clam Chowder or Lentil Chili in a sourdough bread bowl. At Harbour Galley, you can enjoy a sourdough bread bowl with Clam Chowder, Steak Gumbo, or Lentil Chili. Over at Disney California Adventure at Aunt Cass Cafe, you can try the Broccoli Cheese and Bok Choy Soup, San Fransokyo Clam Chowder, or Creamy Mac and Cheese in a Sourdough Bread Bowl. Jolly Holiday will also always have a soup on the menu that rotates depending on the season.
