Don’t Use Disneyland Mobile Order For This Restaurant

While mobile ordering works well for many Disneyland quick-service locations, there is one restaurant we would recommend skipping it for. Mobile ordering is a convenient service offered at Disneyland that allows you to bypass long ordering lines by placing a food order at participating locations in advance and selecting a pickup window. This is offered at several quick-service locations and is often our go-to option to save time in the parks.

However, for a newer Disneyland quick-service location, we found that this experience wasn't as great as it usually is. We will explain why you might want to avoid using mobile ordering for this restaurant!

Avoid Mobile Ordering For This Disneyland Restaurant

Tiana's Palace is one of the newest Disneyland restaurants that opened in New Orleans Square. The quick-service location offers Southern meals inspired by Creole and Cajun cuisine, and it offers a mobile ordering option.

We've had a positive experience eating here as you can see in our Tiana's Palace food review, and we think the presentation of the offerings is very nice, making the atmosphere of the restaurant more comfortable.

One of the things that was mentioned when Tiana's Palace first opened was that even though this is a quick-service location, they wanted it to feel like table-service food, which we agree that it does. This idea is supported by the elegant presentation of the food on its white plates, which really elevates the experience.

See the beautifully plated Gulf Shrimp and Grits below:

Other items we had at Tiana's Palace like the Muffuletta Sandwich and Beef Po'boy Sandwich also had great presentation on the white plates.

However, we recently made the mistake of mobile ordering at Tiana's Palace and were disappointed by the boxes the food came in. Whether it was just the visual of the food in the black container or if there was actually less food included, it definitely felt less appealing than the plates of food we have gotten here in the past.

At San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure, which contains some of our favorite places to get food, mobile order items are still typically given out in single-use containers—though I did recently receive a mobile order in the standard black bowl that is usually just for those standing in line—and the presentation of the food still looks far better and more appetizing than it does in the containers used at Tiana's Palace. The mobile order food at Tiana's Palace also comes with a plastic fork rather than a metal fork, which adds to the overall image of it looking underwhelming.

Here is a look at the San Fransokyo food that came in the standard black bowl that is typically for guests standing in line:

When presented in the black container, the food's visual appeal decreases a bit, so we think that there's likely a better way to spruce up the presentation of mobile order items at Tiana's Palace. See the contrast between the above images of the food on plates at Tiana's Palace and the food in the mobile ordering containers from the restaurant below:

While the mobile order presentation could be improved, we still really enjoy the food offerings that we have tried at this new dining location!
