This Major Disneyland Park Restaurant Closure Really Changes the Dining Scene

It’s common to see some closures at the parks early in the year as Disneyland takes advantage of this slower time to complete any necessary refurbishments. We shared previously that there will be some rides and a popular Disneyland restaurant closing for refurbishment after the holidays.

We don't always include restaurants in our list of Disneyland closures, but this one restaurant has a particularly notable impact on the park. This is one of our favorite restaurants that is often our go-to at Disneyland and an extremely popular option for guests grabbing a quick meal.

Keep reading for details on this Disneyland restaurant closure and what to expect during its closure and an update on its reopening

Disneyland Popular Restaurant Closure

Disneyland Jolly Holiday bakery cafe

The popular quick-service restaurant Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe closed for refurbishment on January 7, 2025, after the end of the Christmas celebration at Disneyland.

Update! Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe will be reopening on March 22, 2025. This is a much longer closure than we expected. The restaurant will be opening right around when the Spring Break crowds start to pick up in mid-March. We did confirm this date with Disneyland. They cautioned that at this time the restaurant should reopen then but that things could always change.

As we shared in our Mickey Visit Disneyland This Week update (we share all the essential Disneyland news and key dates each week there so be sure to check it out), this is one of the key restaurants in Disneyland. It has the widest selection of quick-service breakfast foods, so with this dining location temporarily unavailable, you can expect demand for other quick Disneyland breakfasts like the Breakfast Ronto Wrap and Breakfast chimichangas to increase.

With Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe closed, some other nearby Disneyland breakfast locations that you can go to include Galactic Grill, Refreshment Corner, Red Rose Tavern, and Market House. Refreshment Corner have some new offerings as well as some favorites from Jolly Holiday during the closure.

You can find some of the other popular items at different locations. The Raspberry Rose Macaron is showing up on the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor menu. The Matterhorn Macaroon and the Bacon & Egg Croissants are at Refreshment Corner.

Quick tip: You can mobile order from the Downtown Disney Starbucks using the Starbucks app. This is a potentially good replacement for the breakfast options now missing.

Another impact of the Jolly Holiday closure is that this is the only dining location that stays open until park closing most of the time, which is something to consider if you are planning on utilizing our Mickey Visit Disneyland evening strategy.

As of the first day of the closure, the left side of the restaurant's outdoor seating area was already closed off. The right side was open as of our last visit checking in though that may change. The seating area outside of Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is always a very popular spot as it is centrally located right off the main hub of the park, which impacts Plaza Inn seating across the way as visitors go to sit there instead.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is also a key spot for the special event food for Disneyland Sweethearts’ Nite which is coming up. Throughout the year, this dining location always has a significant number of special offerings for seasonal celebrations and special events. The Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe closure doesn’t yet have an end date on the calendar. We are curious if the restaurant will reopen in time for these parties of if the food will be offered elsewhere this year.
