Disneyland Offering Extremely Low Priced One Day Tickets For Anaheim, California Residents

Disneyland just announced a new ticket offer for Anaheim, California residents that is lower than any available ticket prices out there currently.

The new ticket special was announced on the 69th birthday of the theme park on July 17, 2024. The new special comes after multiple years of close discussions with the Anaheim area about a massive Disneyland expansion master plan that was finally approved a couple of months ago.

Details on pricing on the tickets and the good news that this announcement likely points to below.

Disneyland Anaheim Resident 2024 Ticket Discount

Anaheim Residents have access to purchase a $69 for a 1-day, 1-Park ticket and to upgrade that ticket to a park hopper for $35. Guests can also add Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the standard pricing of $30 per ticket and standard parking for $35.

Tickets are valid for use beginning August 5, 2024 and expire September 26, 2024. Residents may purchase up to 5 tickets per eligible person per day with valid ID. Ticket prices are same for all ages 3 and up.

Disneyland is also offering a substantially discounted ticket for all guests to utilize this summer. See that summer and fall Disneyland discount ticket offer here.

This ticket special comes at a great time of year when guests can experience both the Pixar Together Forever fireworks or the kickoff of Halloween at Disneyland including the Plaza de la Familia celebrating Coco. Fantasmic! is also back at Disneyland this summer.

The offer is valid for Anaheim residents within ZIP codes 92801 – 92809, 92812, 92814 -92817, 92825, 92850 and 92899. Disney states that proof of eligible residency, including valid government-issued photo ID, is required for purchase and admission. Since this is such a good deal and only available to a small group of people, we anticipate that all IDs will be checked.

Why is Disneyland offering this substantial discount?

This Disneyland ticket offer is a throwback to the dramatically lower ticket prices of old. It is surprising and a very good deal for those in Anaheim who want to visit the theme park. It's a great good neighbor policy and one that doesn't surprise me based on the recent efforts by Disneyland to get closer to the resident of Anaheim.

This new discount ticket offer comes at a time that Disneyland leadership is working very hard to align themselves with the City of Anaheim. Coming out of the 2020 closures of the theme park, the City of Anaheim realized how closely their fate was tied to the Disneyland theme park's success. They saw how much of their tax revenue came from the operating theme parks and resort district.

That realization opened up the ability for Disneyland to have conversations to create a new master plan for their existing properties to allow for dramatic resort expansion across their existing owned property.

DisneylandForward Concept Plans

Now, the DisneylandForward zoning initiative has been approved and we are just waiting to learn more about what will be built in the Anaheim area. We expect big news to come out of Disney's D23 convention that will be held in Anaheim next month. Having this deal be available for residents at the same time that they learn about concrete plans for major construction at the Disneyland Resort should also help to make residents feel like they are more aligned with the success and growth of the park. It also again signals that this is going to be a massive D23 set of announcements.

Every time that Disneyland talks about expansion and we share it on social media we receive some comments asking about displacement of residents in Anaheim or increased traffic. To clarify, the expansions won't displace anyone and Disney is hoping that the increased traffic will all flow into a new parking garage. That said, there is clear incentive for Disneyland to take care of their Anaheim residents with deals like this to calm any fears. They want them on their side as new expansions are announced for the resort.

The deal won't measurably impact Disneyland's revenue because it is coming during two of the slower months at Disneyland. This may also be a nice traffic driver.

I am thrilled to see Disneyland providing discounts and easy access for residents from their city as it will make it overall a better relationship moving forward.
