Disney World Raises Prices on 1-Day Tickets, Multi-Day Tickets, Park Hoppers!

Walt Disney World has raised their theme park ticket prices for 2025 including their 1-day ticket tier base prices. This is shortly after we have already heard an announcement about new perks for Walt Disney World resort guests that include free water park access. This Walt Disney World ticket increase includes a variety of ticket types like multi-day tickets and park hopper add ons.

While ticket price increases are never welcome news for Disney fans, Walt Disney World has not seen quite as many recent ticket prices increases as we've seen at Disneyland. In fact, the last price increase we saw at Walt Disney World took place in late 2022. Although, we did see a large variety of other increases at Walt Disney World in 2023 ranging from food costs to parking!

Keep reading for the full breakdown of what ticket price increases look like at Walt Disney World and how this increase may impact your future trip dates.

When Are Walt Disney World Ticket Prices Increasing?

These new price increases for Walt Disney World go into effect for 2025. No current 2024 dates are impacted by this price increase which may be a relief for many guests that are planning travel for this year. And bookings are also NOW OPEN for 2025 dates!

But keep in mind, if you have already have a vacation booked then you have those prices LOCKED in despite any later announced increases. This is why I recommend putting the deposit down on your Walt Disney World vacation package as soon as possible. Click here for a FREE Walt Disney World quote from our travel partner. My favorite thing about booking with Get Away Today is that they will price monitor your trip at no additional cost. So if promotions are released after you book, they will apply those savings automatically. If you booked on your own this would be something you'd be responsible for tracking and waiting on the phone (for a long time) to apply those discounts to your package. This is especially important for 2025 travel dates as we KNOW those dates will get discounts but they haven't been announced quite yet.

It is slightly unusual for this increase to take place at a later date as most price increases for theme parks take place immediately so it is interesting that Walt Disney World is deciding to hold off on this increase until 2025. The last price increase for park tickets at Walt Disney World took place in December 2022 so it's been quite some time since we've seen an increase. It is reasonable (even if it's not a popular move) for Walt Disney World to increase prices now. But maybe it feels less reasonable when we look at the wide range of cost increases that Walt Disney World released in 2023 which brought higher prices for theme park food, parking and Genie+.

How Much Did Disney World Tickets Go Up?

Well, since Walt Disney World uses tier based ticket pricing it's a bit hard to give an exact dollar amount of a price increase. Walt Disney World tickets use variable pricing which means tickets will cost different amounts at different days of the year. As a good rule of thumb, you can expect ticket prices to cost most during peak travel periods like holiday weekends, popular holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and Spring Break season.

Now, let's get into some examples of the price increases for 1-day tickets at Walt Disney World. The most notable change is now the lowest ticket price has increased by $10. Now the cheapest ticket you can get at Walt Disney World will start at $119 which is often for Animal Kingdom as a 1 park per day ticket. If you look at one of the cheapest months to visit Walt Disney World, the prices in August 2025 start now at $119 per 1 day ticket for Animal Kingdom and $139 for Magic Kingdom. As you can see in the chart below, this is the new LOWEST priced 1 day tickets you can find for Walt Disney World in 2025.

Ticket Price Increase Disney World

This is a bit surprising as Disney World highly advertised the “cheap $109 ticket” so this $10 increase gets rid of that promotion. But, it is on par with other theme parks. For comparison, Universal Orlando‘s 1 day park ticket starts at $119. This was also a slightly recent change with that price going from $109 to $119 in November 2023. Universal Orlando is also gearing up for their debut of their third gate theme park, Epic Universe, so it's not surprising to see price increases coming to that park.

As for the most expensive 1 day park ticket for 2025, I looked at dates in the Spring Break season. One of the most expensive days of the year is April 11, 2025 so let's look at that date for our example.

Price Increase Chart April Disney World

In this example, the cheapest 1 day ticket is $169 for Animal Kingdom and $189 for Magic Kingdom. If we compare those numbers to April 12th, 2024 (so both dates remain on a Friday for better comparison) that is an increase of $10 across the board, per park. In 2024, that same Magic Kingdom ticket costs $179 and the Animal Kingdom one would cost $159.

So for 1-day tickets, we can conclude an average of $10 per ticket increase for 2025.

Multi-Day Disney World Ticket Prices Increase

This increase also applies to multi-day tickets which is a bit harder to put an average price increase on. But if we look at multi-day tickets, we can see the increase begins at $10 per ticket and can go up from there depending on different time of year dates.

Disney World price increase chart of August prices

If I look at the same month of August 2025 I used to price the cheapest 1-day tickets with this increase, a 3-day park 1 park per day ticket costs $370 on August 19th which is the cheapest day of the month. For comparison, the same ticket type on the same day in August 2024 would cost $352. That is a price increase of $18 per ticket.

When I add a Park Hopper option to that same ticket, the price increases by $75 per ticket. This is a $5 increase compared to the add on of this same date and ticket type in 2024 which is an increase of $70 for a Park Hopper.

So for multi-day tickets, you can estimate an average of about $18 increase per ticket and $5 increase for park hopper add ons. Again this will vary since multi-day ticket pricing follows a more complicated model than 1-day tickets. For example, if I look at that same date but make it a 6 day ticket, the price increase is only $12 per ticket. So this stays within the logic of the more days you stay, the more you save per day.

Why Did Disney World Raise Ticket Prices?

Tower of Terror next to Hollywood Studios Fantasmic Sign

This is an interesting question and not one we have definite answers on. It is time, from a business perspective, to raise prices since there hasn't been a ticket price increase since December 2022. The price increase isn't too significant but of course it does add up.

I don't love that it also comes on the heels of the announcement for water park access being added to Walt Disney World vacation packages in 2025. I saw many cynical social media commentary saying this would be a followed by a ticket increase. And wow, they were certainly right! But, we'll take any additional perks we can get. And I do think staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel is the best value for your trip. You can find extremely affordable prices for Walt Disney World hotels especially at the value resorts like All Star Movies Resort.

Epic Universe

I am also surprised to see ticket prices increase in 2025 especially when this year may bring some healthy competition for Walt Disney World with the opening of the brand new theme park, Epic Universe, at Universal Orlando. Disney could also be hedging their bets that while this new theme park at their rival down the road will bring an influx of guests, many of these guests will stay plan their focus around Disney and leave their Universal visit for a 1 day experience like is common now. If that's the case, then it makes sense to increase prices if you can predict an influx of future travel to the Orlando area. But only time will tell there. Universal is certainly positioning themselves as a longer vacation destination with the opening of Epic Universe.

Overall, this ticket increase may not break the bank if you strategically take advantage of all the discount Walt Disney World hotel offers. This is where the biggest savings exist for a trip to Walt Disney World and I recommend guests plan their vacations around those promotions, if they can.
