All Stars Movie Resort Review- CHEAPEST Disney World Hotel Is One of Our Favorites

Disney's All Star Movies Resort is one of the more popular Walt Disney World Value Resorts. This is one of my favorite value resorts at Walt Disney World along with the Pop Century Value Resort. If you are looking for the most affordable hotel with Disney theming, this is the best choice for your trip. My All Star Movie Resort review will cover why my family loved this hotel with its newly refurbished rooms plus a full tour of the Disney theming around the resort.

The value resorts at Walt Disney World are the most affordable hotels while still offering the Disney World hotel perks like Early Entry to the theme parks, free Disney World transportation, and nearby dining options. I love staying on-site at Walt Disney World and honestly wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!

I frequently visit Walt Disney World and always stay on-site during my visits with my family. I have stayed at a variety of Walt Disney World resorts including value, moderate, and deluxe resorts so I can offer a good overview for what to expect at these hotels and how to pick the right choice for your group. All Star Movies Review Overview

Disney's All Star Movies Resort is one of the value resort options at Walt Disney World. The value resorts are the most affordable hotels at Walt Disney World in comparison to the moderate and deluxe tiers also offered by Disney.

Out of all the value resorts, the cheapest in this category are the All Star Resorts. There are three All Star Resorts- All Star Movies, All Star Music, and All Star Sports.

All of these three hotels are located in the same area and often share bus transportation between them all. More on this below!

All Star Movies is easily the most popular out of the three All Star Resorts since the theming here is so distinctly Disney and has theming that most kids will recognize like Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, and Mickey Mouse.

There are a few obscure references, especially with Fantasia, that not all kids may recognize but overall most kids will know the characters featured at this hotel.

The theming here is over the top with large statues throughout the grounds. Kids love this type of theming while some adults might prefer more subtle theming.

You can also expect common amenities such as air conditioning, mini fridges, Disney brand toiletries, Joffrey’s coffee, and more in your actual hotel room.

All Star Movies Review Pools & Recreation

The resort also includes recreation options such as:

• Reel Fun Arcade
• Movies Under the Stars
  • watch Disney films outside at The Reel Spot, right outside of World Premiere Food Court 8pm nightly
• Campfire Activities
  • Roast marshmallows by the Fantasia Pool between Buildings 5 and 8 6-7pm nightly
• Jogging Trail
• Playgrounds

And of course, the pool options! There is one feature pool themed around Fantasia which is the main pool at the hotel. There is also a smaller pool themed after The Mighty Ducks.

The pools at the Disney value resort hotels do not have hot tubs or water slides. But they are spacious and offer plenty of swimming space for everyone. For most kids, they do not need anything fancy when it comes to pools and these do just fine.

The Fantasia pool does have its own pool bar called Silver Screen Spirits which has cocktails, beverages, and snacks.

All Star Movies Dining

All Star Movies, like most value resorts, has one main dining option: the food court located in the main building.

The World Premiere Food Court features mainly American options with food like burgers, fries, pizza salad, desserts, and breakfast items. The breakfast also includes Mickey Waffles which is always a must in my book.

There's also plenty of grab and go options available as well including bakery items like donuts, snacks, fresh fruit, beverages, and more.

Mobile order is also an option if you want to grab food on the way to your hotel room. This is a stocked food court and there is something for everyone here.

All Star Movies Review Transportation

The All Star Movies Resorts only have bus transportation and this transportation can sometimes be shared between the other All Star resorts.

For bus transportation, I always recommend lining up 90 minutes prior to park opening if you want to make rope drop. Walt Disney World is extremely efficient with their bus transportation and I often find that I am not waiting long at all for the next bus whether I am leaving the park or hotel.

All Star Movies Review & Room Tour

Our room came with two queen beds with one that transforms into a table when needed. The room isn’t large but felt spacious enough for my family. These rooms have all been recently refurbished which is a nice perk for a value resort. In face, these rooms are even nicer than the rooms at the moderate level Caribbean Beach Resort.

Once you pull down the second bed you see a second mural featuring Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

The main bed has a mural of Mickey Mouse and friends.

The bathroom features enough space for multiple people to get ready.

The bathroom also has a bathtub which is helpful for families with small kids.

The bathroom also has some shelving and a closet for extra storage space.

There is a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room.

I can see this room feeling a bit cramped if you have a family of four, especially with the bed pulled out, but it's definitely doable and you can't beat the price.

For my small family, this room worked perfect for us and I felt we had plenty of space even with the second bed pulled down. The rooms were clean and the recent refurbishment all the values resort received drastically improved the quality of this hotel.

Is All Star Movies Worth It?

We enjoyed our stay at All Star Movies Resort. We just needed a place to sleep during our trip and this hotel served all those needs just fine. You cannot beat the price for the All Star hotels. During our stay it was over a holiday weekend which is typically one of the Walt Disney World dates I say to avoid because of higher prices but even on a peak weekend, the price was still only $218 per night. That is easily more affordable than other options at Walt Disney World.

Overall, for the affordable price at All Star Movies Resort you cannot go wrong. You receive all the same Walt Disney World benefits like Early Entry and Disney transportation at the cheapest price.

But for some guests, the theming may not always be a perk especially the areas of the hotel that are a bit more outdated and do not connect with recent generations. The downside of All Star Movies Resort is also the only choice of bus transportation which is why Pop Century Resort is one of my favorite Walt Disney World hotels since it has the option of the Skyliner. Yet the prices for both Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation (the two value resorts with Skyliner access) have greatly increased since the opening of the Skyliner. So while they are still cheaper than moderate resorts, they are still more expensive than the All Star resorts.

If you are looking for the most cost effective stay possible, then All Star Movies is a great choice. Plus I just love this hotel, the larger than life theming, the recently refurbished rooms, and the ease of walking around the grounds. This is easily one of my favorite value hotels!
