Disney World Parking Guide 2024: Price Increase, Best Tips

Due to the sheer size of Walt Disney World, figuring out parking can be challenging especially as Disney has changed the pricing over the years. How much is it to park at Walt Disney World? Where can you park? Keep reading for our full guide for the most current Walt Disney World parking information.

Walt Disney World Parking Increase

Effective October 11, 2023, standard Walt Disney World theme park parking increased from $25 to $30. This is in line with standard parking costs at all other central Florida theme parks like Universal Orlando which also charges $30 for theme park parking.

Disney also just announced that Walt Disney World Annual Pass prices will now be increased. You can read more about the Disney World Annual Pass price increases here.

Of course, there is no need to utilize the theme park parking if you are staying on-site as Disney World is known for its great on-site transportation to the theme parks with its efficient buses, Skyliner, and monorail! Plus parking at your theme park resort hotel is free.

Walt Disney World Resort Parking

Parking at the Walt Disney World resorts is now super easy if you are considering driving to Walt Disney World.

All Walt Disney World resorts have free overnight parking for guests staying at on-property resorts. This means that if you live close enough to Walt Disney World, you can drive to your on-property hotel and park your car for free. If you have ever been to other destination resorts, you will know that parking usually comes at a premium price, but at Walt Disney World, on-site guests receive complimentary parking for cars in the convenient lots next to the rooms at the resort you are staying at.

If you are staying at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, each campsite provides a parking space for one motorized vehicle.

Day guests of a Disney resort also have free standard parking to enjoy the shops, dining locations, and recreational experiences at the resorts. At some of the more centrally located resorts, like Disney’s The Contemporary (walking distance to Magic Kingdom) you will need to have a reservation to park your car and there is a time limit you are allowed to stay in the parking lot. This is the same for resorts that are on the Skyliner route (Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, The Riviera) or the monorail loop (The Polynesian, Grand Floridian, The Contemporary).

At Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you may have the valet service park your car for just $33 per night. You will need to check in with security when you arrive, but this is just one additional way that Disney will help make your stay a little more magical.

Walt Disney World Theme Park Parking

If you are staying at an on-property hotel or if you are staying off-property will depend on how much you pay to park at the Disney theme parks. Also, depending on where you want to park, in other words, how far you want to walk, you will pay different rates.

Disney World Parking Fees

A car, truck, SUV, minivan, or motorcycle parking in a standard lot is $30 for the day. Once you pay the parking fee, you can move your car to any of the four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT) for the day and not have to pay again. You are also able to leave and come back to the park without paying another entrance fee, as long as you keep your receipt.

A car, truck, SUV, minivan, or motorcycle that wants to park closer to the park entrance at one of the four parks, can park in the preferred parking area for $45-55 per day. The actual pricing depends on the season and will vary based upon the day that your party is visiting.

If you are driving an oversized vehicle to the theme parks, such as Shuttle, Limo, Camper Trailer, RV, Bus or Tractor Trailer, the fees are $35 per day.

Parties that are staying on-property at a Disney Resort Hotel or if you are an Annual Passholder, you are able to park in the standard parking lot at any Disney Theme Park for free. If you choose to park in the preferred parking area and are staying on-site or are an Annual Passholder, your party will pay the difference between the standard pricing fee and the preferred parking fee for that day, between $20-25 per day.

Disney accepts cash and major credit cards at the kiosks for parking in the lots.

Disney Parking Made EasyWalt Disney World Parking

On the My Disney App, there is a Location Services feature that will allow you to save your parking details to easily find your car at the end of the night when you forgot what row and space number you parked in. It is also recommended that if you are driving a rental car, take a picture of what it looks like since many of the cars in the parking lots are going to look the same.

So at Magic Kingdom where you are required to park at the transportation and ticket center, and there are over 12,000 parking spaces, having the app will make it much easier to find your car. Disney does offer a Tram service at the Transportation and Ticket Center that will bring you to the area where your car is parked. The parking lot is also themed after Heroes and Villains. Each section is assigned a different character to help make finding your car after a long day in the park and a monorail, ferryboat or walk back to the parking lot a little easier.

At EPCOT, there is no tram service available, and the parking lot is almost as big as the one at the Transportation and Ticket Center (Magic Kingdom’s parking lot), so having the app to save your parking space is going to be a great tool, or you can pay a little more for preferred parking and have a little less of a walk at the end of the night. This parking lot is also divided into two sections: Earth and Space. Again each section is assigned a specific character that can help you to find your car.

Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios both have smaller parking lots, so finding your car may be slightly easier than at EPCOT or Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom does have a tram service; however, Hollywood Studios does not have a tram service currently running. So it really is up to you whether you want to pay for preferred parking or not. Animal Kingdom’s parking lot is broken into sections by animals (Peacock, Butterfly, Yeti, etc.) and Hollywood Studios’ parking lot is divided into different important characters (Minnie, Buzz, Olaf, BB-8, and others).

One note on trams, they are not always faster than walking to your car depending on exactly where you park. Sometimes you will have to wait 10-15 minutes for your tram to show up at the park entrance and then make multiple stops.

Water Parks, Mini Golf, ESPN Wide World of Sports

Parking at Disney’s two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach is free to all guests that are visiting the two parks.

Parking at the two mini golf courses, Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland is complimentary as well.

Parking is also complimentary at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Disney Springs ParkingDisney Springs Parking

Disney Springs has three separate parking garages (Orange, Grapefruit, and Lime) that all lead directly to the Disney Springs area. Parking at each garage is free for visitors. One great thing about all of the parking garages is that Disney technology lists the number of available spots on signs and above each parking spot are red and green lights that indicate whether the spots are occupied.

Parking can fill up quickly since Disney Springs is open to the public with no entry fee, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get where you are going for any reservations or shows. Disney Springs parking lots have been known to fill up and have no availability around major holidays and on some weekends.

For $20, you are also able to pay for valet parking. This does not include gratuity.

DVC Members ParkingWalt Disney World Parking DVC

When staying at a Disney Vacation Club Deluxe Villa or a Disney Resort hotel, DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Members are not charged to park overnight, for self-parking. This applies both if the member is using their points or if they have chosen another method of payment for their trip.

Electric Vehicles

If you are driving a newer, all Electric Vehicle, Walt Disney World has installed charging stations in Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Coronado Springs, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

The charging stations are first come, first serve. There are as little as 2 spaces (Wilderness Lodge) to 13 spaces (Disney Springs) to use to charge your vehicle.

To pay for the charging, you will need a credit card or a pre-ordered ChargePoint card, which can be purchased at chargepoint.com. To charge at any of these stations, there is $0.35 per kilowatt hour fee, with a minimum service amount of $1.50.

Guests with Disabilities

Throughout Walt Disney World, there are designated parking areas available to guests with disabilities. Any guest wishing to park in these designated areas must provide a  valid disability parking permit.

If you have a mobility disability and are traveling with a wheelchair, scooter, or other mobility device, all four Disney Parks have a Disability Parking lot located close to each of the main entrances.

Walt Disney World Parking

Disney has made parking at Walt Disney World slightly easier for guests that are staying at on-site hotels in that parking anywhere on the property is complimentary to guests. This is just one perk of using Walt Disney World accommodations.

If you are driving onto Walt Disney World property for the day, you will have two major options for parking: standard ($25/ day) or preferred parking ($40-45/ day) at all theme park parking lots.

DVC Members and Annual Passholder Members also receive perks of complimentary parking when visiting Walt Disney World Property.

Disney Springs, the two Water Parks, the ESPN Wide World of Sports, and the mini golf locations also provide complimentary parking to any guest visiting these destinations.

While driving and parking to the theme parks can be a daunting task, Disney has made some great tools to help every guest have a magical day for their family vacation.
