Parking at Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom quite easily has the most complex parking process out of all of the Walt Disney World theme parks. Unlike the other theme park lots, the Magic Kingdom parking lot does not connect directly to the theme park. Instead, there is a body of water that sits between the two.
The Magic Kingdom parking lot is located at the Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). After parking, Guests will need to make their way through the TTC and then take the ferry or monorail to get across the Seven Seas Lagoon. The ferry and monorail takes Guests across the lagoon to the entrance of Magic Kingdom.
To get to the actual parking lot, you’ll need to enter the address for the Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza into your GPS.
Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza Address: 3450 World Dr, Bay Lake, FL 34787
At the Toll Plaza, you will let the Cast Member know what type of parking you’d like and pay your parking fee.
While the Magic Kingdom theme park has specific operating hours, the Magic Kingdom parking lot does not. While the parking lot doesn't have an exact time that it opens, you can generally make your way there about 60 minutes prior to the theme park opening time. Make sure that you check the hours for Magic Kingdom on the day of your visit.
Different Magic Kingdom Parking Types & Prices
The Magic Kingdom parking lot has four different parking types: Standard Parking, Medical Parking, Preferred Parking, and Oversized Vehicle Parking.
Magic Kingdom Parking Types
- Standard Parking $30 – Standard Parking is the base level of Magic Kingdom parking. This level of parking is what Guests with standard sized vehicles and motorcycles will automatically receive unless otherwise noted. Examples of standard sized vehicles are cars, minivans, SUVs, and pickup trucks.
- Medical Parking $30 – The Medical Parking area in the Magic Kingdom parking lot is reserved for Guests with disabilities. In order to use the Medical Parking area, Guests must present a valid disability parking permit. Medical Parking is located at the front of the Magic Kingdom parking lot and is the section that’s closest to the TTC.
- Preferred Parking $45, $50, $55 – Guests who wish to have guaranteed parking at the front of the Magic Kingdom parking lot can choose to have Preferred Parking instead of Standard Parking. The Preferred Parking areas are the next closest section to the front of the lot, following Medical Parking. Just like Standard Parking, Preferred Parking is reserved for standard sized vehicles and motorcycles. The price of Preferred Parking varies depending on the day, but will cost $15-$25 more than Standard Parking.
- Oversized Vehicle Parking $35 – Oversized vehicles, such as shuttles, limos, camper trailers, RVs, buses, and tractor trailers will be required to park in the Oversized Vehicle Parking area.
Once you've paid for parking, you have access to the parking lots at all four of the Walt Disney World theme parks. If you plan on Park Hopping, you will not be required to pay for parking at any of the theme parks that you hop to.

Charging Electric Vehicles at Magic Kingdom
For Guests driving electric vehicles, there are a select number of ChargePoint charging stations in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. There are 5 spaces in total – 1 at the front of Medical Parking and 4 at the front of the Zurg section. These spaces operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Besides the standard parking fee, Guests will also need to pay to use the charging stations. The charging stations have a cost of $0.35 per kilowatt with a $1.50 minimum service amount. In order to use a ChargePoint charging station, a credit card or pre-ordered ChargePoint card is required. Those wishing to pre-order a ChargePoint card can do so at chargepoint.com.
The charging stations in the Magic Kingdom parking lot will charge your electric vehicle until the battery is full. Once the battery is full, charging will stop and you will receive a “ping” from ChargePoint to alert you of completion.
These Guests Park at Magic Kingdom For FREE
All Guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot for free. In order to receive this free parking, you will need to have a MagicBand, room key card, or your My Disney Experience app ready to scan at the Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza in order to prove the validity of your stay.
Disney World Annual Passholders can also park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot for free. To park for free, Annual Passholders must present their Annual Pass along with their Photo ID.
The free parking that Hotel Guests and Annual Passholders receive is Standard Parking. However, if they’d like, they have the option to upgrade to Preferred Parking. In order to do this, they will need to pay the difference in price between the Standard Parking and Preferred Parking. The difference will be $15-$25 depending on the date.
Is Preferred Magic Kingdom Parking Worth It?
The Magic Kingdom parking lot is one of the few lots where I think the additional cost for Preferred Parking is worth it. The Magic Kingdom parking lot is quite large. Besides the large lot, you also have the additional commute across Seven Seas Lagoon before you even get to Magic Kingdom. Parking in the Preferred Parking area would be a beneficial way to cut back on your commute time at the beginning and end of your day.
That being said, if you opt to park in Standard Parking and end up being pretty far back, you will have the option to take a tram to the front of the lot. This will help alleviate walking far distances in the parking lot. Your tram ride, however, will be dependent on how many other Guests are also utilizing the tram.
Preferred Parking in the Magic Kingdom parking lot no doubt adds additional convenience to the parking experience. You will need to decide if that convenience is worth the additional cost of $15-$25 for you.
Remembering Where You Parked
As I mentioned above, the Magic Kingdom parking lot is quite large. This lot is divided into 12 sections (not including Medical Parking). These sections are split into two groups: Heroes and Villains.
Heroes
- Aladdin (Preferred Parking)
- Woody
- Peter Pan
- Simba
- Rapunzel
- Mulan
Villains
- Jafar (Preferred Parking)
- Zurg
- Hook
- Scar
- Ursula
- Cruella
With the mass amount of cars that are in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, it can be easy to forget where your vehicle is. One simple way to remember is by taking a picture of your section sign. This sign will have the name of your section’s character, a picture of the character, and row numbers. Rather than trying to remember where you parked, you can simply refer back to the picture to know what section you parked in.
While this method is very efficient, there’s now a more technologically advanced way to keep track of where you parked!
Magic Kingdom Car Locator
Among the other useful services on the My Disney Experience app there is Car Locator. Car Locator uses your phone’s Location Services to find and save your vehicle’s parking information. This will allow you to easily find your car in the Magic Kingdom parking lot at the end of the day.
How to Use Car Locator
- Once you’ve parked your car, you will need to open the My Disney Experience app. After the app is open, you will need to click on Car Locator which can be found on the home screen or by clicking the menu button (☰).
- After Car Locator is open, you will enter your parking info. If you’ve enabled Location Services on your phone, Car Locator will help fill in your parking information. Once your information is entered, you can head to Magic Kingdom and enjoy your day!
- When you’re ready to return to your car, you will need to open the My Disney Experience app again and select Car Locator. You will then be able to access your parking info. If you have notifications enabled, Car Locator will also send you reminders about your parking spot.
