Magic Kingdom is the flagship park for Walt Disney World and is the one park you cannot skip on your vacation. This is where you will find the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Cinderella's Castle.

Average Magic Kingdom Hours
The Magic Kingdom operating hours vary depending if you're visiting on a weekday, weekend or during a “peak” time of year which often includes holiday weekends, select summer dates, and spring break.
Magic Kingdom Operating Hours
- Opening 8AM or 9AM
- Early Entry for resort guests: 730AM or 830AM
- Closing 10PM or 11PM
These are the average hours and will change depending on the time of year. The busier the parks, the longer park operating hours will be but you can always count on weekends to offer the longest operating hours.
What Time Does Magic Kingdom Close?
Magic Kingdom is the theme park at Walt Disney World that usually has the longest operating hours and closes at either 10PM or 11PM depending on the year. Magic Kingdom has the most attractions in the park in comparison to the other three theme parks so this gives you plenty of time to enjoy everything this magical area has to offer.
Magic Kingdom is also where you can find the iconic Walt Disney World fireworks will shows taking place nightly around 9PM. This is definitely a great theme park to stay for closing due to this iconic spectaculars. You can't miss it!

Magic Kingdom End of Day Tips
Staying until Magic Kingdom closing is a good way to ensure you get the most out of your day. This is one of the most popular theme parks at Walt Disney World and has the most attractions to experience.
You can get in line for any attraction before park closing despite how long the wait is! As long as you are IN LINE before the official park closing time, you will be able to ride. My strategy is often to get in line for Snow White Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (the most popular ride in the park!) five minutes before park closing and then by the time we finish the attraction and exit we can see the castle lit up and also spend the bulk of our wait for that ride during a time the park is officially closed.
Disney will often post inflated waiting times for attractions at the end of the night, often to discourage guests from getting in line right before park close. So the chances are the posted wait time might actually be much less than the actual wait time.
Magic Kingdom Early Entry
Magic Kingdom offers Early Entry daily for guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel. You can read more about this perk in our Early Entry Walt Disney World guide.
Early entry allows hotel guests to enter the park 30 minutes prior to official opening time. For Magic Kingdom, this will usually be 730AM or 83oAM. This 30 minute head start is a great thing to take advantage of! Everyone will dash straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and unless you're at the front of that herd of people, I recommend crossing off other attractions first. Our favorite place to start in Magic Kingdom is Fantasyland and then we work our way towards Liberty Square and Adventureland. Magic Kingdom Extended Evening Hours
Magic Kingdom is one of the parks consistently offered in the Extended Evening Hours offering for guests staying at Deluxe Walt Disney World hotels during busy times of the year. These hours allow guests to experience the park after closing for an additional two hours.
When it is offered, it's great to take advantage of since this park is so large and this allows you to tackle high wait time attractions. Walt Disney World's website has the most up to date Extended Evening Hours dates.
When Do Rides Open at Magic Kingdom?
All Magic Kingdom attractions open right when the park official opens.
For Magic Kingdom Early Entry, only these attractions are available:

- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Mad Tea Party
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- The Barnstormer
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
The most popular of these attractions is easily going to be Snow White's Seven Dwarf Mine Train and this is where all guests will head to first. If you'd rather not be part of the mad dash to Fantasyland, you could head right to Big Thunder Mountain and start working your way through Adventureland and Liberty Square. Magic Kingdom is one of the parks where Genie+ at Walt Disney World is more of a necessity and I will usually book Space Mountain first as those reservations will run out quickly and then I can focus on the opposite side of the park in the morning.
Magic Kingdom Restaurant Schedule
Magic Kingdom restaurants that offer breakfast will be open right when the park does which is usually 8-9AM during most times of the year. For the restaurants that start the day with lunch, you can expect an opening time of 10AM-11AM depending on the individual restaurant. Be advised that the Starbucks location on Main Street, U.S.A. will have extremely long lines in the morning so you might want to grab your coffee before coming to the park!
Most table service restaurants stay open until an hour before park closing with some remaining open until closing. For quick service restaurants most close when the park does giving you some time to grab a bite before Magic Kingdom closes.
You will be allowed to linger in the park even after Magic Kingdom officially closes so if you grab a snack right before closing, you're welcome to grab a table and enjoy it.
How Late Are Magic Kingdom Shops Open?
The stores on Main Street, U.S.A. will remain open an hour after Magic Kingdom closes for the night to allow guests to do their shopping before they leave the park. Other shopping locations in the parks will close when the park closes to help nudge people towards the front of the park.
This is why I recommend saving your shopping for the end of the night rather than doing it during regular park hours. Plus you don't have to carry your purchases around with you and can walk right out when you're done.
