Disney World Announces Gingerbread House Lineup with Surprising Change

One of my favorite holiday traditions at Walt Disney World is the annual gingerbread houses located at the Disney resort hotels. These displays feature a variety of themes often tied to their resorts, with past houses including a working carousel and a life-size baby giraffe.

Disney World just announced this year’s gingerbread house lineup, with a surprising new addition. At Mickey Visit, we keep track of all the upcoming holiday news, including the new Christmas foods and upcoming Christmas popcorn buckets.

Disney World Resort 2025 Gingerbread Houses

This year’s returning gingerbread houses will be available through January 1st, with the arrival of each house often staggered throughout November. Disney has announced the following resorts will have gingerbread displays:

We are still waiting for the full reveal of the houses, along with their individual menus, as these resorts will also offer snacks coordinated with their individual gingerbread houses. You can see our full ranking of the gingerbread houses from the previous holiday season to see how magnificent these displays are.

One major change this year? The lack of a gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the addition of a display at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge instead.

No Grand Floridian Gingerbread House This Year

The top Walt Disney World gingerbread display is easily the life-sized Grand Floridian Resort & Spa gingerbread Victorian-style house. This is the most popular gingerbread display each year, and guests flock to the lobby of this Disney resort hotel to take in this fantastic gingerbread house.

Unfortunately, the iconic gingerbread house won’t be returning due to the ongoing construction in the Grand Floridian lobby.

Disney is in the midst of finishing up their construction of a new bar that is inspired by the lobby’s iconic birdcage and pays tribute to the Victorian roots of the resort. The new Grand Floridian lobby bar sits right across from the Victorian cage-style elevator with the rest of the lobby, plus the grand staircase and front desk, also undergoing a design update.

Due to this active construction, there is no space to put the massive gingerbread house, nor is there space in the lobby to accommodate all the guests that would pour in to see the display.

Wilderness Lodge Offering New Gingerbread Display

Disney surprised us with the news of a gingerbread display coming this year to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This is great news, as Disney is adding another display in place of the Grand Floridian gingerbread house rather than leaving the list one house short.

This isn’t the first time Wilderness Lodge has had a gingerbread display. In 2019, there was a gingerbread log cabin house. It was popular with guests, especially since the holiday decorations are always a hit at this resort.

We might see the return of a log cabin for this year’s display, similar to the one six years ago, but we will have to wait and find out!
