The Disney Treasure is the newest Disney Cruise Line ship which sets sail December 2024 for its inaugural sailing.
The theme of the Disney Cruise Line ship is inspired by adventure and utilizes design elements from around the world. Disney incorporated stories from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, and Disney Parks adventures into the design of this brand new ship.
The Disney Treasure is a highly anticipated Disney Cruise Line ship and we were among the first to step onboard this ship and get an exclusive preview of the ship's interior design.

Disney Treasure Cruise Ship First Sailing Date
We got an exclusive first look at the Disney Treasure before its inaugural sailing this December and were given a tour of the full ship including the much anticipated Grand Hall! The Disney Treasure is the second of the Wish class ships and embodies the same stunning design we loved about the Disney Wish.
We were in New York City for the christening of the Disney Treasure and to tour the ship.
The Disney Treasure will embark on its maiden voyage, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise taking place December 21-28, 2024, sailing to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Disney Castaway Cay. Disney Treasure Unique Additions
The Disney Treasure is the same class of ships as the Disney Wish which means we will see some repeating elements in the dining, recreation, youth clubs, and adult exclusive areas.
For the areas unique to the Disney Treasure, the most talked about spaces are the new lounges! The Disney Treasure features an amazing lineup of lounges and call outs to theme park attractions with the first ever Haunted Mansion bar, the Jungle Cruise lounge, plus a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea lounge.
The Disney Treasure presents the first ever Coco theatrical dinner show and a new Zootopia themed sweets shop. There is also a brand new Guardians of the Galaxy inspired show at the World of Marvel restaurant which will be a different show than the one that takes place at the Marvel dining on the Disney Wish.
The staterooms on the Disney Wish include similar themes of adventure along with an over the top EPCOT Spaceship Earth themed suite. The ship also offers a brand new Broadway-style show exclusive to the ship based on the Moana film.
Disney Treasure Layout
We got a look at the layout of the Disney Treasure. Key thing to note is the elevator system is the same as on the Disney Wish which means there are only two sets of elevators instead of three like on some of the ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
Disney Treasure Elevators
The design of the ship is beautiful with these silver accents and deep blue and burnt orange coloring.
While some guests may groan at knowing the elevator system is the same as the Disney Wish due to some slowness, I didn't mind it when I cruised on the Disney Wish.
Mainly because the loss of that midship elevator system is offset by the additional space to create a beautiful Grand Hall. Since the Grand Halls on these ships are so stunning, I think it is worth it.
Disney Treasure Hallways
The hallways feature artwork celebrating well-known Disney characters that known for their adventurous stories.
Beautiful Tile Detailing
Just off the Grand Hall, you can see this beautiful tile floor with the name of the ship adorned in the green and gold coloring.
Disney Treasure Mural
The Disney Treasure mural is located right off the Grand Hall and shows the deck plan with more vivid imagery.
Disney Treasure Top Deck
We also got a look at the top deck and the waterslides which includes the AquaMouse water ride.
Disney Treasure Grand Hall Reveal
The most well-known place on any Disney Cruise Line ship is the Grand Hall. The Grand Hall is the main gathering space with its own dedicated entertainment and character interactions. This serves as the central space on the ship and is the first area that guests see when they board.
Disney Treasure Statue
Each Disney Cruise Line ship has its own statue and the characters highlighted on the Disney Treasure are Aladdin and Jasmine as they ride the Magic Carpet from “Aladdin.”
Close Up of the Statue
Here is a close up of the statue from the Grand Hall featuring Aladdin and Jasmine.
The Genie Lamp in the Grand Hall
Details of the Grand Hall also include the Lamp from Aladdin nearby the statue.
Disney Treasure's Lantern-Like Chandelier
Each Disney Cruise Line ship features a fabulous chandelier in the Grand Hall and the Disney Treasure has a lantern style sculpture that appears to be inspired from Asian and African art.
Wide View of the Grand Hall
Here is a wide view look of the Grand Hall that shows the rich color design and gold elements. It truly does look like a palace!
Grand Hall Seating Areas
The Grand Hall also offers seating areas off to the side on both deck 3 and 4 which overlook the main hall. The seating areas here continue to tie in the theme.
Moving Steamboat Willie Display
This moving Steamboat Willie display plays out a scene from this famous Disney cartoon. This is located on deck three right near the Grand Hall.
Disney Treasure Artwork
On the stairs off the Grand Hall, you will be able to see beautiful artwork on each landing like this impressive painting from Aladdin.
Haunted Mansion Parlor
One of the three unique lounges on the Disney Treasure is the Haunted Mansion Parlor. The Haunted Mansion is one of the most iconic Disney Parks attractions with a huge cult following of Disney adults along with its extensive lore which has now been expanded with the opening of this new themed lounge.
See tons of photos of the new Haunted Mansion Parlor in our full photo report here.
The lounge features an abundance of Haunted Mansion details along with a fun menu inspired by the attraction. This is easily one the best themed Disney Cruise lounges!
Skipper Society Lounge
This new Jungle Cruise lounge on this newest Disney Cruise Line ship offers a fun immersive experience that theme park fans will love!
See all of the photos and a look at the menu of offerings at the Jungle Cruise Lounge here.
Skipper Society Lounge is the destination for higher-end Jungle Cruise skippers to relax at the end of their day and features a fun inspired menu and a setting inspired by this famous attraction.
Periscope Pub
Periscope Pub is the other highly themed lounge on the Disney Treasure inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The pub features many immersive details with callbacks to the film and past Disney Parks attractions.
See tons of photos and food previews from our tour of the Periscope Pub here.
This is easily one of the best themed lounges amongst the Disney Cruise Line fleet, along with the Haunted Mansion Parlor and Hyperspace Lounge!
Scat Cat Lounge
The Scat Cat Lounge on the Disney Treasure is themed after the “The Aristocats” film and named after the music loving cat from the movie. The theme of the lounge aims to bring the performance of ““Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat” into the real world for the first time.
Scat Cat Lounge Cocktails
The presentation of the cocktails in the Scat Cat Lounge is extremely well done.
Jumbeaux’s Sweets First Look
The Zootopia-themed sweet shop, Jumbeaux's Sweets, is modeled after the same ice cream store featured in the Zootopia film. This new sweet shop will include more than 20 flavors of handmade gelato, 16 flavors of ice cream and sorbets, specialty treats, candies, and more.
Zootopia Sculpture
The interior of this shop features a detailed sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.
Walt Disney Theater Entrance
The entrance to the Walt Disney Theater is located just off the Grand Hall and you can see some more beautiful tile and detailing in this area of the ship.
Walt Disney Theater Interior
The three live stage shows will be held in the Walt Disney Theatre. This theatre is themed as a show “palace” with similar royal touches and dark, vibrant coloring seen in other areas of the ship.
“Disney The Tale of Moana” Stage Show
“Disney The Tale of Moana” is a brand new show exclusive to the Disney Treasure and follows the story of Moana as she goes on the journey to save her island and restore the heart of Te Fiti.
We got to see about thirty minutes of the new show during our preview day of the ship. It brings the story to life with great performers and big set pieces. There is also project mapping used to bring the grandmother stingray life. I was pleased with the performance. The songs from this movie really deliver every time that you hear them. No photos were allowed during the performance.
Disney Treasure Staterooms
This first look at the Disney Treasure stateroom shows a room with verandah. The couch pulls down into a sleeper bed and there's even a second bed that pulls down from the ceiling.
Tomorrow Tower Suite
The Disney Treasure even features a stunning suite in the front funnel of the ship inspired by EPCOT's Spaceship Earth. The highlights of this suite are the different EPCOT references including a Figment statue, different artwork, and designs inspired by Spaceship Earth at the theme park.
While we enjoyed this space, some of the other suites were actually more enticing with their own decks and private hot tubs.
Disney Treasure Offers Stunningly Cool Youth Clubs
Similar to the Disney Wish, the Disney Treasure offers some of the best themed youth clubs on board.
The Walt Disney Imagineering Lab allows kids to experience what it's like to be a Disney Imagineer with hands on activities and experiments while Fairytale Hall features three immersive areas themed to Tangled, Beauty & the Beast, and Frozen.
Kids Use a Slide to Get to the Clubs
The Disney Treasure also uses a slide for youth to get to the Oceaneer's Club which is below the Grand Hall. This is such a fun touch for kids and one of the many reasons why your kids will love these Disney Cruise youth clubs!
Minnie Mouse's Disney Treasure Captain Outfit
Minnie Mouse is the Captain of the Disney Treasure, just like she is for the Disney Wish! For the Disney Treasure, she has an unique voyager outfit to fit the adventure theme.
During our busy day running to capture everything to share with you here, we only caught Minnie Mouse in passing.
Is Disney Treasure Better Than The Wish?
The Disney Treasure Cruise Ship and the Disney Wish Cruise Ship are in the same class of ship and have almost identical layouts. However, there are key differences between the two ships. There are clearly learnings that the Disney Imagineers took from the Disney Wish to enhance the Disney Treasure. Combine that with what I believe is a more interesting set of stories to inspire the ship and you have a great offering.
This new ship leans into key stories that Disney fans love the most like those from the Disney Parks like Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and even EPCOT in its most expensive suite. There are also just more colorful areas including in the Grand Hall where the tile work is very impressive. The design work on this ships is beautiful and the rich bold designs on the Disney Treasure are truly breathtaking.
Where the Disney Wish has a lighter, more fantastical element, the Disney Treasure feels grounded with reel gritty details in certain places.
Our overall impression, which was echoed by the other media at the preview event, is that this ship feels more defined and interesting than the Wish. We will have to finalize our opinion on that once we get on the ship for our sailing this December.
