Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure
The Haunted Mansion Parlor is one of the new theme park inspired lounges, along with a Jungle Cruise lounge and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea pub, onboard this newest Disney Cruise ship. We got an exclusive first look at the Disney Treasure before its inaugural sailing this December and were able to get an up close view of the Haunted Mansion Parlor.
Currently, there is no crowd control planned but Disney may adjust that over the next two test sailings which take place in December. For example, on the Disney Wish they implemented a virtual queue to control crowds when the Star Wars themed bar called Hyperspace Lounge got overcrowded.
Haunted Mansion Bar Photo Policy
There is no flash photography allowed in the Haunted Mansion bar to help keep the ambiance of this spooky lounge intact.
There is an amazing amount of stuff inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor and we were surprised at how small it was! It could have been bigger to accommodate more people but then it wouldn't have the same immersive feel. Let's go through a tour of all the details in this Haunted Mansion bar!
Haunted Mansion Bar Lore
The storyline for the Haunted Mansion Parlor introduces two new characters to the lore of the Haunted Mansion: the Captain and the Captain's Bride. The parlor focuses on the story of The Captain and the tale of how he found his bride after responding to a distress call for a shipwreck and upon arrival only finding this mysterious woman.
The Story of the Captain's Bride
The lore of this parlor hints that his bride is perhaps a sinister creature which we see alluded to in the portrait gallery. The Haunted Mansion parlor leaves clues that tells the story of their disappearance after an evening when the Captain was heading to a dinner prepared by his bride. That same evening he vanished, with just his fat floating in the aquarium tank.
Haunted Mansion Ghost Fish Aquarium
This spooky fish aquarium was actually part of the original Haunted Mansion concept art created by Imagineer Rolly Crump.
Ghost Fish Aquarium Glows
Now more than 50 years later, this original sketch was referenced for inspiration to create the “Aquarium with Ghost Fish” for the Haunted Mansion Parlor.
Haunted Mansion Parlor Sculpture
The Haunted Mansion Parlor also includes a new sculpture made just for this lounge by Walt Disney Imagineering. The sculpture is modeled after Rolly Crump. He played such an integral role in designing the original Haunted Mansion attraction.
Haunted Mansion Parlor Chair
The parlor also includes the iconic Haunted Mansion Parlor chair.
Iconic Haunted Mansion Wallpaper
The parlor also includes the iconic Haunted Mansion wallpaper which is a nice touch.
Ghosts Above the Bar
The mirror above the bar will change to different notable ghosts from the Haunted Mansion attraction like Madame Leota and the Hitchhiking Ghosts!
Madame Leota
The menu for the Haunted Mansion Parlor features imagery of Madame Leota.
The Haunted Mansion Clock
Don't forget to pay attention to the details in this lounge, notice how a smaller version of the Haunted Mansion clock appears in this lounge.
Haunted Mansion Bar Portrait Gallery
The Haunted Mansion Parlor feature its own eerie portrait gallery with many of these portraits being unique to the Disney Treasure. The character of the Mariner Ghost was originally created by Disney animator Marc Davis and is also featured in the Haunted Mansion attraction at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Portrait Gallery Features New Characters
The portrait gallery also includes the Captain whom is the main character of this spooky lounge along with the Captain's Bride which is a callback to the existing “cat lady” concept seen in the Haunted Mansion. The portrait flickers to her reveal her “true form and true intentions” as we see the portrait change into a more sinister representation.
Haunted Mansion Themed Drinks
The Haunted Mansion Parlor includes a fun menu of inspired drinks all inspired by the attraction. Disney Cruise is known for their iconic drinks which is something we observed recently with the famously expensive Star Wars cocktail.
Haunted Mansion Cocktails
The “Sympathetic Libations” cocktail features sour cherry and blood orange flavors, the “Ghoulish Delight” with decadent ube fudge, oat milk, and tapioca pearls combined into a glittery purple concoction (garnished with a gummy eyeball), and the “Signature Beverage,” which will be a ghostly twist on a classic margarita, presented to guests amidst a swirl of flavored smoke. The “Signature Beverage” will be topped with lemon salt foam and hide a secret message that can only be revealed by black light.
Haunted Mansion Bar Secret Menu
The Haunted Mansion bar also includes a secret menu called “A Chilling Challenge”! To access it you must push all the header buttons in a row then turn it sideways, from there you move the words into the poem listed to reveal the menu!
Exclusive Haunted Mansion Parlor Mugs
I imagine the Haunted Mansion merchandise will be some of the most coveted items on the Disney Treasure. There are two commemorative mugs that feature The Mariner and The Captain's Bride.
Haunted Mansion Parlor Merchandise
The other three items offered at the Haunted Mansion Parlor include a music box, clock, and mirror. The music box is rumored to belong to the Captain's Bride with the parlor clock inspired by the original grandfather clock in the ride. But one of the coolest merchandise items is the parlor mirror which features the surprise appearance of the hitchhiking ghosts in the frame.
This bar is sure to be popular, the immersion is fantastic and it is pure heaven for Haunted Mansion fans!
