Disney’s Other Star Wars Bar Sells a $5,000 Cocktail and Actually Feels Like You’re in Space

The most well-known Disney Star Wars bar is Oga's Cantina located in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The newest Disney Star Wars bar, Hyperspace Lounge, is different than Oga's Cantina and guests travel through hyperspace during their experience!

The Hyperspace Lounge is themed to make guests feel like they are traveling through space along with a full list of Star Wars cocktails. Including a drink that costs $5000 and comes with an exclusive visit to Skywalker Ranch and other perks that will make you feel like a cruise VIP.

Star Wars Themed Bar on the Disney Wish

Disney star wars bar

The Hyperspace Lounge is one of the lounges on the Disney Wish, Disney's newest ship full of themed touches to Cinderella and other magical Disney stories.

The theme of this lounge is inspired by the lavish starcruisers featured in Solo: A Star Wars Story like Dryden Vos' ship and offers an immersive experience of traveling through space. The bar will hyperspace jump to several different planets in the Star Wars universe including some of the most well-known ones like Tatooine, Mustafar, Endor, and Coruscant.

The view of hyperspace is seen through the “viewport” which is essentially a widescreen window that features the noteworthy locations and nearby ships.

Hyperspace Lounge Offers Fun Star Wars Cocktails

The cocktail list in the Hyperspace Lounge is all themed to different Star Wars planets so it incorporates stories ranging from those in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge with the Batuu Spire Sunset (pictured above) which is a gin cocktail with flavors of coconut. This was my favorite drink in the lounge!

Other cocktails are offered, like the Mustafar Berken's Flow, along with a wide selection of dark beers. Many of the cocktails are served with this smokey ambiance which is a fun touch and made things seem a bit out of this world.

The $5k Cocktail Experience on the Disney Wish

Star wars lounge expensive drink

The most noteworthy cocktail experience is the viral $5000 option on the menu that made headlines when the Disney Wish first set sail. And yes, the $5000 drink also does get the automatic 18% drink gratuity added on which adds another $900 to the bill!

This expensive drink is called the Kaiburr Crystal but in reality it is actually 4 different drinks and is served in 4 cups. The drink comes in an Camtono which is a fun fan favorite item in the Star Wars universe that is often used to store valuables.

Unfortunately, you do not get to keep the Camtono this drink is served in! Once a guest orders this, you put in a code to open up the Camtono container and access the drinks.

What Do You Get for a $5k Drink?

Star Wars Bar drink

We were lucky enough to be in the lounge when this drink was ordered! In the picture you can see the four drinks. The largest cocktail in the center is called a Barc Speeder and is made with Camus Cognac 4.160, Yuzu and Kumquat, and Grand Marnier Quintessence. The other three cups are three shots which include Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23 Year Bourbon, Taylor Fladgate Very Old Tawny Port (Kingsman Edition,) and Watenshi Gin.

These liquors are all extremely expensive with some of the bottles costing thousands of dollars. As for the cups, you do get to keep these and they are actually real silver plated. So that in itself is a big value!

Our server shared with us some of the other details of this illusive drink which includes a bundle of Star Wars merchandise delivered to your stateroom, a special escort off the ship, wine from Skywalker Ranch, and four tickets to Skywalker Ranch. We also witnessed the Disney Cruise officers coming in to present the guest with this drink and taking photos with him.

So all in all, you are getting more than just a few expensive liquors! Disney truly acknowledges the investment you just made with this purchase.

What is Skywalker Ranch?

Skywalker Ranch

Skywalker Ranch is known for being the workplace of George Lucas and is located in Nicasio, California. The ranch is now home to Skywalker Sound which is one of the film industry's most legendary campuses. The campus combines the “innovative spirit of Lucasfilm” with the Californian landscape and traditional Victorian architecture. The majority of the land is home to farm animals, organic gardens, a 26-acre vineyard, a seven-acre olive tree grove and bee colonies. There is even a man-made lake called Ewok Lake.

Skywalker Ranch is not open to the public, only clients of Skywalker Sound can stay at the ranch, making access to see the ranch a limited and exclusive offering. This is a huge perk for Star Wars fans and might make the cost of this $5000 drink far more worth it!

During the day the Hyperspace Lounge is for all ages and there is a great selection of mocktails offered. After 9PM, the lounge becomes an adult only experience.

Even during the day when we popped in, we only saw a few families and those enjoying the space tended to lean more towards adults. But kids are absolutely welcome during the day and it's worth popping in so they can see the immersive space.

Hyperspace Lounge Offers Great Immersive Experience

The immersion of the Hyperspace Lounge truly made it our favorite lounge on the Disney Wish. Once you stepped inside, it really was like you stepped into a spaceship with the large space “window” showing different views of planets. We had fun pointing out the planets we recognized.

I am a huge Star Wars fan so something like this was always going to be a slam dunk for me but this was a great experience that I think anyone would enjoy. The atmosphere is immersive, the drink menu offers variety for everyone, and the servers are wonderful.
