Garlic Cheesy Pretzel Bread from Maurice's Treats
Maurice's Treats is a Beauty and the Beast-inspired snack cart located in the Fantasyland area of Disneyland across from the Royal Theatre. They offer a variety of snacks and beverages including the Garlic Cheesy Pretzel Bread which consists of pretzel bread stuffed with a cheesy garlic spread. Facebook user Christina Zigler wrote “The cheesy garlic bread is amazing,” while Nannette Gonzales-Mitchell replied with “had it last week!!! It was definitely yummy!” This tasty snack costs $7.99 and is available between 8 AM and 9 PM each night when the snack cart is open. Another fan favorite is the cheesy garlic brat!
Maurice's Treats is the perfect stop for a quick sweet or savory snack at Disneyland. They also offer a delicious Cream Cheese & Blueberry-filled Danish, Ham and Cheese Croissant, as well as the Boysen Apple Freeze drink with a souvenir mug option, cold brew, and hot cocoa. Although the Garlic Cheesy Pretzel Bread is one of the best underrated snacks at Disneyland, there are lots of other options as well. We recommend grabbing a snack and drink especially before seeing a show at the nearby Royal Theatre.
Dill Pickle Popcorn from Cozy Cone Motel
Facebook user Craig D Mattinson, along with several others, wrote that the most underrated snack at Disneyland that deserves more praise is the dill pickle flavored popcorn. Guests can find this and other unique popcorn flavors at the Cozy Cone Motel located in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park. There are five different cones that offer different food options, and this popcorn is available at Cozy Cone 5. Guests can order a popcorn scoop for $6.59 with their choice of flavor which sometimes rotates but typically includes dill pickle, butter, and white cheddar. For popcorn and pickle lovers such as myself, this is an amazing snack that you will be sure to enjoy as you walk around Cars Land!
The other Cozy Cones located offer other great snacks including churros, soft serve ice cream, chimichangas, and unique mac & cheese dishes including the Slow Burnin' Mac & Cheese Cone which is topped with chile-cheese puffs! Cozy Cone Motel also serves unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, making it a very popular spot for great snacks for the next time you visit Disney California Adventure. The dill pickle popcorn is a unique and delicious treat that should definitely be more popular among park guests.

Hot Chocolate
Many classic snacks and drinks, including hot chocolate, just hit differently at Disneyland! Hot chocolate is often underrated because it can be seen as a boring drink that you can find anywhere. However, the hot chocolate at Disneyland definitely deserves more credit! Disneyland is particularly magical during the holiday season, and I especially love to enjoy a hot chocolate during the winter months at Disneyland.
Many Facebook users agree that Disneyland hot chocolate is a delicious treat that is often overlooked. Kelly Kirksey Fisk wrote, “I'll say it every time. Hot chocolate. It's magical and I want to know how to make it.” I agree with this sentiment as it absolutely tastes better than the Swiss Miss I make at home or even purchase from other coffee shops.
Guests can find hot chocolate at many quick service restaurants and snack kiosks, including the following locations:
- Ghiradelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop – San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure
- Award Wieners – Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure
- Corn Dog Castle – Paradise Gardens Park in Disney California Adventure
- Carnation Cafe – Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland
- Maurice's Treats – Fantasyland in Disneyland
- Troubadour Tavern – Fantasyland in Disneyland
- Royal Street Veranda – New Orleans Square in Disneyland
Frozen Banana
Another classic but underrated Disneyland snack is the frozen banana with chocolate and peanuts. Found at most of the ice cream snack carts throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, this can be a great light snack guests can enjoy while walking around the parks.
When asked which Disneyland snacks are underrated, Facebook user Sue Cosh wrote “The frozen banana on a hot day,” which I completely agree! Although I love enjoying the various desserts about Disneyland, it's nice to have a piece of fruit to balance out the sugar rush I typically get at the parks. Although this snack is loved by many guests, including our readers at Mickey Visit, several guests recommend waiting at least 20 minutes before enjoying a frozen banana because it is often frozen solid and is more enjoyable after it has melted a bit!
Churro Toffee
Some Disneyland guests don't realize that not only does Disneyland sell amazing churros, but they also have churro-flavored toffee! Several of our Facebook followers, including Natalie Padron Rodgers, Shannon Ericksen Makiva, and Lindsay Figueroa stated that churro toffee is one of the most underrated Disneyland snacks that deserves more credit. This delicious treat can be found at Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland and Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff in Disney California Adventure. Both stores have a variety of classic Disney treats as well as other merchandise including clothing, accessories, and toys.
One churro toffee square costs $8.29 and is a delicious toffee treat covered in white chocolate and cinnamon-sugar. If you plan on visiting Disneyland this holiday season, be sure to look out for the Churro Toffee Cold Brew Latte! This non-alcoholic latte consists of Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Coffee, cinnamon sugar, vanilla bean, and almond milk garnished with churro syrup-flavored whipped cream and toffee crumble. This is a fan favorite and we were excited to see it back on the menu this year, especially for toffee lovers! Check out all the limited items on this year's holiday menu, entertainment, and more here.
Although this snack may be a bit more popular than the others on the list, we had to include it based on a large response for this treat. If you haven't tried it before, we definitely recommend grabbing a square of churro toffee next time you're in Disneyland.

Matterhorn Macaroon
Facebook follower Mike Roser stated he believes the “Jolly Holiday Matterhorn Macaroons” are one of the best Disneyland snacks that don't get enough praise. Additionally, when Amberbderrick- Thoughtful Travelers stated the Matterhorn macaroons are underrated, Meredith Ellen Gilson agreed and wrote back, “YES! You are so right!”.
The Matterhorn macaroons cost only $4.99 and can be purchased at the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland, which is one of my favorite bakeries at Disneyland. These macaroons are a great low-cost treat and consist of a moist coconut macaroon topped with melted white chocolate and sugar to replicate the snow on the Matterhorn mountain. There is a large variety of other treats and sandwiches at Jolly Holiday including croissants, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and various seasonal offerings throughout the year.
The Jolly Holiday Cafe is a great spot to visit especially later in the evening once other restaurants close, because the bakery remains open until Disneyland closes at 12 AM. Therefore, Jolly Holiday is great if you're looking for a late night bite and a delicious snack, especially if you want to try a Matterhorn Macaroon! Jolly Holiday also accepts mobile ordering from the Disneyland app which can help you save time waiting in lines.
Skewers from Bengal's Barbecue
Last but not least, are the meat and vegetable skewers found at Bengal Barbecue in Disneyland. Facebook follower Jeremy Johnmann said their most underrated snacks included “The pickles and Bengal BBQ skewers!”, to which Lynette Bates replied, “2 must haves every trip!”. Carlos ElJefe also agreed that the “Skewers at Bengal BBQ” were some of the most underrated Disneyland snacks that deserve more credit.
Bengal Barbecue is one of the best quick-service restaurants and is located in the Adventureland area of Disneyland. They offer mobile ordering which makes it easy for guests to enjoy more time in the parks and easily grab their skewer or other food items quickly.
Bengal Barbecue offers various types of skewers including:
- Chieftain Chicken Skewer in a Polynesian sauce for $6.79
- Bengal Beef Skewer in a sweet Zulu sauce for $7.29
- Safari Skewer with bacon-wrapped asparagus for $6.49
- Banyan Beef Skewer with hot and spicy beef for $7.29
- Pork Belly Skewer with grilled pork belly, hoisin sauce, pickled carrots, and daikon topped with cilantro for $7.99
- Outback Vegetable Skewer with fresh vegetables for $5.99
Other snacks offered at Bengal Barbecue were also included in several responses by followers when asked which Disneyland snacks are the most underrated. These included pineapple spears, pickles, hummus with veggies, and tiger tails which is a tiger tail-shaped breadstick baked with garlic, herbs, and sharp Cheddar cheese!
It's pretty clear that between the skewers and other snack offerings, Bengal Barbecue should be on your list to try underrated Disneyland snacks on your next trip!
