Disney World Least Visited Theme Park and Park That Grew Attendance 50% This Year Announced

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has just released its 2026 report of global theme park attendance, and Disney Experiences once again dominates as the top theme park operator worldwide. While some of these numbers are in keeping with the usual patterns year-to-year, there were some interesting shifts revealed that fans may be surprised by. Today, we’re sharing just-released attendance rankings for Disney theme parks.

An annual theme park attendance report reveals where Disney theme parks rank in guest visits among each other and against the competition, including the least-visited Walt Disney World theme park and a water park whose attendance grew by 50% this year. We have all the data and what it means below. This follows an update from Disney’s CEO on upcoming expansions. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including changes coming to Disneyland and Hallmark’s first-ever Disney World Christmas movie.

“At its core, the Global Experience Index remains about insight,” said Melissa Ruminot, TEA CEO. “Reliable data, viewed over time and in context, helps us identify trends, understand changing guest behavior, benchmark performance, and make more informed decisions about the future. It provides a common point of reference for an increasingly global and interconnected industry.”

The report is a collaboration among TEA and research partners Entertainment + Culture Advisors (ECA) and The Park Database.

Collectively, global theme park attendance decreased in 2025, from 245.9 million guests visiting the top 25 most-attended parks in 2024 to 245.4 million in 2025. We share individual theme park rankings below.

Pluto Disney

Disney Experiences was the top theme park operator of the year, as usual, with China-based Fantawild Group in second place. Third was Universal Destinations & Experiences, jumping Merlin Entertainments (operator of LEGOLAND and Peppa Pig parks, among others) for that spot. This follows the May 2025 opening of Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando.

Typhoon Lagoon

Both of Walt Disney World‘s water parks placed on the global and domestic lists. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon had 1.76 million visitors in 2025, a 3% decrease year-over-year, ranking as the #6 most-visited water park globally and the #1 water park in North America.

Blizzard Beach height requirements

Disney’s Blizzard Beach had 1.35 million visitors in 2025, a whopping 50% increase from 2024, ranking as #13 for global water parks and #4 in North America.

The sharp spike for Blizzard Beach can be attributed to the park being open for roughly 6 months in 2025, compared to only 4.5 months in 2024. Disney also offered free water park entry for all overnight Walt Disney World hotel guests on their check-in day, which seems to have helped boost attendance. The promotion returned in 2026, but only for the summer, not the whole year. Disney has already confirmed the deal will be in place again for summer 2027.

Now, let’s take a look at individual theme park rankings globally and domestically.

Disney theme parks represented 8 of the top 10 parks, with Magic Kingdom once again reigning as the most-visited theme park on the planet. All 12 Disney theme parks made it into the top 20.

Disneyland Park, Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, Disneyland Paris, Disney California Adventure, and Walt Disney Studios Park (now Disney Adventure World) all increased in attendance from 2024 to 2025.

Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Hong Kong Disneyland all decreased in attendance from 2024 to 2025. Notably, this includes all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks in Orlando, Florida, though the Florida parks’ dips were all by just 0.2%.

Epic Universe

Some fans wondered if the May 2025 opening of Universal Orlando’s newest park, Universal Epic Universe, would lead to any major dent in Walt Disney World attendance, but the answer seems to be no. Universal Orlando’s other two parks dipped in attendance from 2024 to 2025. Epic Universe did not place in the top 20 global rankings for 2025, but we’ll see how it does domestically below.

Cars Road Trip

Both Disneyland Paris parks jumped rankings from 2024 to 2025, with Walt Disney Studios Park going from #20 to #19, and that resort’s Disneyland Park going from #10 to #9, beating out Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Notably, the impressive 5.7% attendance increase for Walt Disney Studios Park occurred before the park’s March 2026 renaming into Disney Adventure World and the opening of World of Frozen. That increase bodes well for the park’s continued investment efforts.

All 6 of Disney’s domestic parks made it into the top 8 spots. All of the top 9 North American parks maintained the exact same ranking order from 2024 to 2025. Note that Universal Epic Universe opened mid-year, so its attendance doesn’t reflect a full 12 months as the other parks’ attendance does. It will be interesting to see how Epic Universe ranks in the 2026 report.

Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World theme parks introduced modest new additions in 2025, such as a new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom and the 70th anniversary celebration at Disneyland, but didn’t have any major headlining attractions debut. The 2025 data implies that no such headliner was needed, and that guests still visited regardless. As Disney prepares to roll out a series of major expansions in the coming years, I’m curious how the numbers will shake out.
