Disney Cruise Staterooms Overview
On board each Disney Cruise Line ship are four main types of staterooms which include Concierge, Verandah, Oceanview, and Inside. These types of staterooms dictate how your room will be laid out and what features your room will have. Within each type of stateroom contains various categories of rooms which vary based on which ship you are sailing.
Each of the four main types of staterooms contain the following features:
- Concierge staterooms are luxury suites of various sizes with concierge services. Concierge services begin before, during, and even after the cruise. Concierge guests can inform the Concierge Team of any stateroom preferences up to 130 days prior to setting sail. There are dedicated Concierge Agents available for questions and can help plan Port Adventures, dining and spa reservations, and other special requests. During the cruise, you will enjoy a private welcome reception, access to exclusive lounges, a private sundeck with water and refreshments, and much more. Concierge staterooms range from smaller, deluxe staterooms that sleep up to four guests to large, two-story suites that can comfortably sleep up to eight guests.
- Verandah staterooms have private ocean view balconies with floor to ceiling windows in each stateroom. They can sleep between three and five guests and typically range between 246 and 299 square feet. Due to the large size and windows, they are the second most expensive staterooms next to the Concierge rooms.
- Oceanview staterooms do not have private balconies but offer views of the ocean through either one large porthole or two smaller portholes. They can sleep between three and five guests and range between 204 and 241 square feet in size.
- Inside staterooms are the cheapest staterooms and are located within the interior area of the ship with no views of the ocean or outside. However, these rooms have “Magic Portholes” which are high-definition LCD monitors that give a real-time view of the ship's exterior. These staterooms sleep between three and four guests and range between 169 and 204 square feet.
Depending on which Disney Cruise ship you are sailing, the categories within each of these types of staterooms will differ. However, picking one of the four main stateroom types will be your first step when choosing a stateroom.

Tips on Picking the Best Staterooms
Depending on your budget, group size, and general room preferences, you are sure to find the perfect stateroom for your next Disney cruise!
When picking a stateroom for our Disney cruise, we always consider the following priorities: budget, motion sickness, large families.
If you are trying to keep within a strict budget, we recommend any of the Inside or Oceanview staterooms. These are also great if you don't plan on spending much time in your stateroom besides going to sleep! These are also great for shorter cruises because you won't need as much luggage or other items to store in your stateroom.
If anyone in your group is prone to motion sickness, we recommend finding a room located on a deck towards the middle and bottom of the ship. Each stateroom has a category with a corresponding deck number, and you can view a map of where the decks are located on the Disney Cruise Line website. Although it is very unlikely you will experience significant motion onboard the large ships, it can be helpful to choose a location that is convenient and provide some peace of mind.
For parties of five or more, you will likely want to consider any of the family staterooms. Several Disney Cruise Line ships also offer expanded main suite options, where larger groups can book adjoining staterooms for convenience.
