Disney Adventure Theme
Every Disney Cruise Line ship has a theme that sets the immersive for the main atrium and the ship's design. The Disney Adventure is being hailed as a journey and a destination that aims to bring to life the “core pillars of Disney storytelling.”
Disney referred to the Disney Adventure as an experience that offers guests a Disney Cruise Line adventure on a “grand scale.” The terminology being used here is especially exciting as it sounds like Disney is pulling out all the stops here with this newest Disney Cruise Line ship.
Disney Cruise Line estimates the passenger capacity of the 208,000-gross-ton Disney Adventure to be approximately 6,700 with around 2,500 crew members.
This is the LARGEST Disney Cruise Line ship putting it on par with some of the larger Royal Caribbean fleet. This is an existing ship that Disney purchased and is being retrofitted by Disney Cruise Line. That's why you'll see such a different design for this ship in the style of indoor and open air “neighborhoods” which is the similar style and design of other cruise line companies.
Marvel Landing – New Attractions
Disney shared new details about Marvel Landing on the upper decks, which will feature three new attractions.
Ironcycle Test Run will be Disney Cruise Line's first-ever roller coaster, where riders test-drive Tony Stark's latest Ironcycle prototype. The ride will be suspended up to 30 feet above the upper deck and will be the longest roller coaster at sea.
Pym Quantum Racers will take you for a ride in Pym Tech-modified mini-cars around a track as you navigate obstacles. Groot Galaxy Spin will offer “an awesome mix of high-soaring feats and bass-boosted beats.”
The space will also include a sundeck with an infinity pool and a pool bar, inspired by Tony Stark's residence.
Disney Adventure New Stage Shows
The Disney Adventure will feature a new stage show at The Walt Disney Theater, “Remember,” starring Wall-E and Eve and featuring appearances from heroes from Coco, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin. See the concept artwork above! “Disney Seas the Adventure” will also be featured at the Walt Disney Theater on the Disney Adventure.
The Disney Imagination Garden stage will feature a lineup of shows all day, from the high-energy dance party Let's Set Sail on embarkation day to Avengers Assemble!, Captain Jack Sparrow & The Siren Queen, Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party, and Baymax Super Exercise Expo.

The Navigator's Club and Hollywood Spotlight Club on the Disney Adventure will be inspired by the “traditions and glamour of the golden age” featuring signature entertainment and appearances by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy.
Animator’s Palate and Animator’s Table will be inspired by the legacy of animated Disney and Pixar films.
Enchanted Summer Restaurant will be inspired by Tangled and Frozen, with a Maximus dining room and Olaf dining room.

Moana and Big Hero 6 Experiences
San Fransokyo Street, inspired by Big Hero 6, will be a street market with “interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas and more,” as well as meet-and-greets with Baymax. Guests will be able to enjoy the Hiro Training Zone, a training simulator built by Hiro.
Wayfinder Bay will be a pool area at the back of the ship featuring Voyager Bar as well as a wading pool that will double as a venue for live shows including “Moana: Call of the Sea.”
Disney Adventure Kids Spaces
The Disney Adventure's kids spaces include it’s a small world nursery, Disney’s Oceaneer Club, Edge, and Vibe.
Toy Store Place on the upper decks will feature a family pool, whirlpools, slides, splash pads, and dining options, as well as screenings of Disney movies, trivia, and more.
Disney Adventure Themed Areas
Disney will use the magic of “imagination, discovery, fantasy and adventure” with seven uniquely themed areas filled with incredible characters and experiences.
Disney Imagination Garden
The theme of the Disney Imagination Garden pulls on the “power of imagination” which opens doors to new adventures and “emboldens dreamers to create magic of their own.” Disney Imagination Garden will be a space that will be the “emotional heart” of the Disney Adventure as an enchanted valley, charming garden, and open-air performance venue all in one. This space is inspired by 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney Adventures, specifically calling out “Moana on the high seas to Mowgli in the jungle.”
This will be an imaginative gathering space for guests that mirrors the same purpose as the other atriums on the Disney Cruise Line ships. What is most exciting about this announcement is the “open air” description which hints at a big change in design from other Disney Cruise Line ships.
In the garden, there will be a theatrical stage, two quick-service locations, and a bar, as well as a selection of garden-view staterooms. Garden View staterooms will be a new room category for Disney Cruise Line, giving access to a verandah with views of the garden.
Disney Imagination Garden is reminiscent of a classic pop-up storybook with landscapes adorned with the “decorative foliage of blossoming flowers, shaped topiaries, tall trees and cascading vines.” Guests will be able to see popular characters, iconography, and Easter eggs from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories.
On one end of the garden will be the Garden Stage and a courtyard on the other. A lawn area will lead to a staircase that creates amphitheater-style seating for the Garden Stage entertainment, which will feature shows like Avengers, Assemble! highlighting Marvel heroes and villains.
At the top of the staircase will be a courtyard with trees resembling storybook cut-outs featuring some animals from favorite stories. A topiary of Sorcerer Mickey will also be featured in the courtyard.
Over the garden, there will be a storybook castle showpiece three decks tall. This artwork is inspired by Disney castles from Disney stories and theme parks. You'll find references to various castles like the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland Paris, and Rapunzel’s castle, as well as influences from sketches drawn by artists like Herbert Ryman, Frank Armitage, and Eyvind Earle. The castle will be situated above a decorative waterfall and surrounded by a wave motif.
Disney Imagination Garden Quick-Service Locations
There will be two quick-service locations in the Disney Imagination Garden inspired by Jungle Book and Moana. There will be both indoor and outdoor seating at these locations with the patio providing views of the entertainment on the Garden Stage. See the descriptions for the two quick-service locations below!
Mowgli’s Eatery – Serving Indian cuisine, including vegetarian and regional dishes with a special Disney twist, this casual eatery will be inspired by Mowgli’s epic journey in “The Jungle Book.”
Gramma Tala’s Kitchen – This inviting quick service restaurant will be inspired by the vibrant scenery and island flair of “Moana” with an imaginative menu showcasing the diverse flavors found throughout the Pacific and Asia.
Disney Discovery Reef
Disney Discovery Reef is inspired by the “spirit of discovery” where families can shop and dine in an “ever-changing retreat” of aquatic characters and nautical stories from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, including “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Finding Nemo” and “Luca.”
San Fransokyo Street
San Fransokyo Street is inspired by “Big Hero 6” and is a family entertainment area filled with the energy and atmosphere of a vibrant street market. Guests can enjoy an assortment of interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas and more.
Wayfinder Bay
Wayfinder Bay is an “open-air oasis” under the sun where guests can enjoy relaxation and entertainment. This poolside area is themed after the Pacific Islands-inspired artistry of Disney Animation’s “Moana” while offering some of the most stunning views of the sea and sky.
Town Square
The Town Square is inspired by the “magic of fantasy” and draws on the worlds of Disney's most beloved stories and fairytales. Town Square is a celebration of Disney royals. This “fantastical forest” will be filled with shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues.
This themed area will include nods to “Tangled,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and more.
Marvel Landing
Marvel Landing is an activity space for fans of all ages that will focus on beloved Marvel characters including “all-new attractions and experiences that showcase imaginative representations of guests’ favorite Super Heroes.”
Toy Story Place
Toy Story Place inspires guests to explore, create, connect, and have fun in a “whimsical, interactive play land with themed food venues and water play areas” all themed around Pixar's “Toy Story” films.

The above concept art shows a stateroom with verandah and Little Mermaid art above the bed.
Closer look reveals the Little Mermaid artwork on the wall and the coloring of the room.
