It’s not uncommon for rides to go down at Walt Disney World during regular operating hours. Sometimes it can be due to technical issues or weather, like rainstorms, which are common in Orlando. We looked back at all the rides that experienced the most downtime in Disney World in 2025, and they might not be the ones you expect!
We’re also going to review all the rides that ranked the highest wait times and the days of the year these waits took place, with some dates falling on holiday weekends, so we expect to be busy and some dates appearing a bit randomly! At Mickey Visit, we report on the latest Disney World news, like the changes to the popular Trader Sam’s bar and restaurant menu changes resort-wide.

You can see the list of the attractions with the highest downtimes in 2025 below.
1. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
2. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
3. Space Mountain
4. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
5. Slinky Dog Dash
6. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
7. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
8. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
9. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
10. Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
11. Pirates of the Caribbean
12. Test Track
13. Frozen Ever After
14. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
15. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Not surprisingly, we see Tiana’s Bayou Adventure occupy the #1 spot for the highest downtimes in 2025. This is partially due to the weather, as this outdoor ride must close during storms with lightning, and this is also likely why we see Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at #2. But for Tiana’s, this ride has also had many issues with their Audio-Animatronics working properly since the ride first opened with its new theme.
As for other outdoor rides on this list, we also have Slinky Dog Dash, Expedition Everest, Test Track, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Since Disney World has to close outdoor attractions if lightning is nearby, that is most likely the largest cause for this downtime, except for the popularity of the thrill rides, which causes a bit more strain on their operating systems.
I am not surprised to see Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on this list, as this attraction is notorious for its downtimes in EPCOT. If you position yourself just right in the France pavilion and enjoy a nice crepe while you wait, you can often walk right on this attraction once it recovers from one of its many daily downtimes.
As for the other attractions on this list, like Rise of the Resistance, they often experience downtimes due to their complicated operating systems or perhaps just due to age, like with Space Mountain.
Disney World Rides With Highest Wait Times in 2025
Now, let’s also look at the rides with the highest wait times in 2025. There are a few attractions on here that may surprise you, as many might assume the highest wait times would actually be more popular rides!
You can see the list of the attractions with the highest wait times in 2025 below.
1. Peter Pan’s Flight – Magic Kingdom Park – 360 min – Nov 9, 2025
2. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 300 min – Jul 6, 2025
3. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – EPCOT – 225 min – Aug 10, 2025
4. Slinky Dog Dash – Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 220 min – Oct 14, 2025
5. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 215 min – Apr 15, 2025
6. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 215 min – Apr 15, 2025
7. Avatar Flight of Passage – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park – 210 min – Oct 12, 2025
8. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 210 min – Apr 15, 2025
9. Avatar Flight of Passage – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park – 210 min – Oct 10, 2025
10. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – EPCOT – 210 min – Aug 9, 2025
If we look at this data by theme park, there is only one attraction from Magic Kingdom on this list, with Peter Pan’s Flight at #1. But keep in mind, these are the top wait times between all four Disney World theme parks. Magic Kingdom also has more attractions than the rest, so it’s easier for waits to be more spread out. It’s no surprise to see Peter Pan’s Flight in Magic Kingdom Park listed as the #1 spot, as this is a classic ride and is a draw for many guests. But it is an older ride, so it loads fairly slowly compared to newer attractions.
The real surprise here is seeing Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in the #2 spot above Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at #3. But Hollywood Studios is an extremely popular theme park, and we often see high wait times there. In fact, four other slots on this top ten list are Hollywood Studios rides. Rise of the Resistance hit top wait times three times last year, twice on the same day, with Slinky Dog Dash occupying the #4 ranking.
As for EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy occupies two of the spots on this list, one during a busy time, as we predict on our Disney World crowd calendar, and another during a seemingly random day in August.
And of course, we see Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom hit this top list twice during that holiday weekend (Columbus Day!) in October, which often ranks as a time of year we like to avoid. This also justifies my opinion that you don’t need to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Animal Kingdom, and you can really get away with just getting Lightning Lane Single Pass for this theme park for Flight of Passage.
