Which are Best Days of the Week to Visit Each Disney World Park (and Which Ones to Avoid at All Costs)

Choosing which day of the week to visit each Walt Disney World theme park depends on many factors, including the season, the specific theme park, and the popularity of the park.

Let's talk about the different strategies for picking which day to choose for each Walt Disney World park, including specific weekdays and accounting for the yearly events and holiday calendars. At Mickey Visit, we are always watching the crowds to help you pick the best dates to visit the parks.

Best Day to Visit Magic Kingdom Depends on the Season

Castle Stage Show Disney World Christmas

The best day of the week to visit Magic Kingdom largely depends on what time of year you are visiting. If you are visiting during August through December, then you will find party event days tend to be much calmer.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place August through October, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party takes place November through December. The days these events take place will have minimal crowds during the day, as non-party ticket holders will need to leave when the party begins. This is the ideal time to visit if you have a park hopper ticket, so you can hop to another park once the event begins.

On another note, Mondays tend to be the busiest days of the week to visit Magic Kingdom. This is often due to guests flying in on weekends, and usually, Magic Kingdom is the first park many pick to visit. I would aim for Tuesday-Thursday for your Magic Kingdom day, except party days.

Hollywood Studios Has the Most Crowds

Hollywood Studios often feels the most crowded since it has so many popular attractions in one park! This park is trickier to predict, but since it is often the park guests prioritize after Magic Kingdom, it will see the highest crowds on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This leaves the other days of the week as the best options, especially Wednesdays and Thursdays. Sunday evenings are also a great choice, as many locals tend not to finish off their weekend at this park and instead travel over to EPCOT or Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT Often Impacted by Local Visitors

Canada pavilion at EPCOT

EPCOT is the most popular park at Disney World, which is frequented by locals and annual passholders. Because of this, weekends and evenings tend to be the busiest times to visit EPCOT.

This is especially true during EPCOT festivals, which run nearly year-round with only a few weeks off. When planning your EPCOT day, prioritize a weekday like Monday-Thursday to avoid the worst crowds.

Animal Kingdom is the Easiest Park

Animal Kingdom Tree of Life

Animal Kingdom tends to be the most flexible, especially on weekdays! This is the park you can easily fit into your schedule after you prioritize your other plans.

Animal Kingdom has shorter operating hours, so most guests visit this park at the beginning of the day and hop to other parks for the evening. If you plan on trying to do Animal Kingdom without Lightning Lane Multi Pass, it can easily be done if you visit in the late afternoon, as wait times drastically drop.

Otherwise, this park is very flexible on which day of the week is best, so I recommend you prioritize the other three theme parks first. Our Walt Disney World crowd calendar has each park broken down based on crowd levels to help you pick the best day to visit.
