Walt Disney World is about to open a multipurpose venue that will function by night as an adults-only lounge. At first, it seemed like this new location would only replace one longtime Disney tenant. Now, we’ve learned the new opening will affect another establishment nearby.

Another Tenant at Disney’s BoardWalk Closing
Disney’s BoardWalk is one of the most pleasant places in Walt Disney World, partly because it’s one of the last remaining survivors of a once-thriving, ever-diminishing genre of Disney experiences: nightlife.

Since the discontinuation of Pleasure Island nightclubs nearly 20 years ago, the BoardWalk has been one of the only locations offering late-night entertainment and dining options for adults seeking fun after the theme parks close.
The newest tenant arriving at the BoardWalk is Hurly-Burly, a lounge opening on October 1, 2026. It’s themed as a century-old theater being revived. By day, Hurly-Burly will host family-friendly trivia. By night, the space will feature live music and will only be open to guests ages 21+. See the full menu for Hurly-Burly here.
Hurly-Burly replaces Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar that operated at the BoardWalk from 1996 to 2025. Jellyrolls was a staple of the BoardWalk. Its owners are opening a new location 10 minutes away from Disney property.
Despite the closure of Jellyrolls, the opening of Hurly-Burly meant that the net count of nightlife offerings at Disney’s BoardWalk remained the same, or so it seemed. Disney has now announced the closure of another BoardWalk establishment.
Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk will close its public operations on September 28, 2026. However, the venue will remain standing, available to rent privately.
Disney’s full notice states, “Beginning October 1, Atlantic Dance Hall will end its regular weekend operations. Atlantic Dance Hall will continue to be available for private events through Disney Meetings & Events and Disney Fairy Tale Weddings.”
Atlantic Dance Hall currently only operates on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. October 1 is a Thursday, making Atlantic Dance Hall’s final operating day September 27. Disney likely included the October 1 date in relation to Hurly-Burly, which opens then.
With Disney giving just a few days’ notice of the closure, one final weekend remains for Atlantic Dance Hall. It will be open on September 25, 26, and 27, from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM. There is no cover charge. Guests must be at least 21 years old to enter.

Atlantic Dance Hall is an opening day attraction for Disney’s BoardWalk, having debuted with the resort in 1996. Inside the art deco-inspired space is a large, tile dance floor.
Looking ahead, in addition to Hurly-Burly, Disney’s BoardWalk will welcome Basin on the BoardWalk, a soap store replacing the former Promenade Fine Art Gallery, and a to-be-announced quick service restaurant replacing the defunct Big River Grille & Brewing Works.
Recent additions to the BoardWalk include The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dog.
