Halloween is right around the corner for the Disneyland Resort, and its full slate of special events is about to roll out. As spooky season begins, though, a few attractions aren’t sticking to the same calendar as everything else.
Three offerings for Disneyland Resort’s Halloween Time will start earlier than others. We have the full dates and details for what’s coming and how it deviates from the rest of the theme parks’ programming. Exceptions to Disneyland’s Halloween Calendar 2026
Halloween Time is an annual celebration that fills Disneyland Resort’s two theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, with seasonal entertainment, exclusive merchandise, ride overlays, and specialty food.

The official dates for this year’s Halloween Time are August 21 through October 31, 2026. In addition to this, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, a separately ticketed event, takes place at Disney California Adventure on select nights from August 18 through October 31.
However, three special Halloween Time offerings will begin earlier than the official August 21 Halloween Time start date. These will be open for all guests during regular park hours, not limited to a separately ticketed special event.
First up will be the Halloween overlays of two outdoor spinning attractions in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. Each year, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters transforms into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween with spooky décor and a completely different soundtrack than the rest of the year, which even has its own album streaming. Larry the Cable Guy and Tony Shalhoub reprised their voice roles as Mater and Luigi, respectively, for these Halloween versions of the rides. Mater and Luigi get into the spirit by singing frightening refrains of “Radiator Screams” lore.
Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween will both return to Disney California Adventure on August 17, 2026. The final day to ride the regular versions of the rides will be August 16. The switchover will happen overnight, not requiring any closure time.
The regular versions will return on November 1, but not for long. Come November 13, Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl will return for Disneyland Resort’s holiday season.
One more spooky offering will begin before the official August 21 kickoff of Halloween Time. Disney Theater in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure is an indoor venue that typically hosts productions geared toward preschool guests. Most of the year, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! performs in this space.
During Halloween Time, a show called Mickey’s Trick and Treat takes over. It stars Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and an original character, Parker, all dressed in Halloween costumes. Goofy is a mummy!
Mickey’s Trick and Treat will return to Disney California Adventure on August 18, 2026. The final day to see Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! before the transition will be August 17.
When this show debuted a few years ago, it was performed exclusively during Oogie Boogie Bash. Since 2024, it’s been performed during the daytime for all guests.

Following these early openings, the rest of Disneyland Resort’s Halloween Time will kick off on August 21. This includes the Halloween Screams nighttime spectacular, Halloween character dining, and Haunted Mansion Holiday, the annual Nightmare Before Christmas overlay of the classic Haunted Mansion ride. As always, Haunted Mansion Holiday will continue beyond Halloween and into the holiday season.
More Fall Fun at Disneyland Resort
In addition to Halloween Time, Disneyland Resort also celebrates Día de Muertos at Plaza de la Familia inside Disney California Adventure. Inspired by Coco, the area features limited-time entertainment, crafts, and food from August 21 through November 2, 2026.
In the future, this corner of the park will have even more Coco. This area is adjacent to the construction site of Disney California Adventure’s Coco boat ride, in which guests will voyage through the Land of the Dead with Miguel and Dante.
