Disney gift cards can be used to purchase Disney tickets, hotel reservations, food, merchandise purchases, and Lightning Lanes. It can truly be used for nearly everything at Disney!
For guests using the Disneyland or Walt Disney World mobile apps, one longstanding limitation has been the inability to save a Disney gift card as a stored payment method. Instead, guests have been required to manually enter their gift card details each time they place a mobile order or complete a purchase. This extra step has always slowed down the process, which can be incredibly frustrating when trying to place mobile orders!
Now, Disney has finally made the change to support Disney gift cards as a default payment method in the app! Both the Disneyland and Disney World apps have been changed to store Disney gift cards as a default payment method.

To add a Disney gift card as a default payment method, go to MyDisney Wallet, add the gift card, and select to use it as a default payment method. The gift card can currently be used on most purchases, including tickets and mobile food orders. As of now, Lightning Lane purchases are not yet supported. Hopefully, that change is also coming soon!
If you already have Disney gift cards saved to your DisneyGiftCards.com account, they will also automatically appear in the app (if you are using the same email to manage those cards you use for your Disney account), which is such a seamless benefit. When I logged into both apps, all my gift cards that are stored appeared automatically.
