Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to the fewest number of rides at any Walt Disney World theme park, but, in addition to the various animal experiences, the park has the best food and dining of any of the theme parks. One of my favorites of these restaurants debuted an updated menu earlier this year, and we tried the entire thing.
We’ll dive into what many consider the best restaurant at Animal Kingdom and in the running for best restaurant at Walt Disney World. We tried every menu item and a new drink, so we have a lot to share. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a permanent closure at Disney Springs and Disney executives’ plans for using AI in theme parks.

Disney’s Best Theme Park Lounge Changes
Earlier this year, we wrote about Nomad Lounge, recommending it as a calm respite for small plates and drinks during a busy park day.
Nomad Lounge doesn’t accept advanced reservations like other Disney World table service restaurants. Instead, guests can join a mobile walk-up list in the My Disney Experience app once they are physically in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The wait is often around 20 minutes.
Grab a spot on the list and enjoy some time meandering the park before sitting down. On my most recent trip, we opted for a dessert break before lunch, and I tried Animal Kingdom’s delicious new ice cream sandwich nearby.
The setting of Nomad Lounge is superb. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, with the latter overlooking Discovery River near the bridge to Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Nomad Lounge shares its building with Tiffins Restaurant, and when we visited recently, one of the Tiffins dining rooms was being used as an extension of Nomad Lounge. We sat at a normal table, but most seating arrangements are low couches pulled up to a coffee table for your food and drinks.
Let’s dive into the new menu items that we tried during our meal. The menu was updated earlier this spring, which we shared in our Mickey Visit menu changes report.
While the menu has changed quite a bit, the fan-favorite churros remain. Another change is that we were not allowed to order the burger from the Tiffins menu next door. I’m not sure if this was a change made across the board or if your experience may vary.
Now, let’s dive into all of the new menu items that we tried during our recent visit. I’ll save my favorite new item for last.

Starting with my drink, I had The Pachyderm and the Pollinator, made of Bayab African rose wine, lavender bitters, honey, and lemon juice. It was $17.50, and $1.75 from every purchase is donated to the Disney Conservation Fund to protect elephants.
This was the only new drink from the menu that we tried.
For food, first up were the Sticky Pork Ribs with Okinawa black sesame BBQ sauce and pickled cucumbers. This dish was $18. The ribs were pretty tender.
We then had the Chinese Five-Spice Glazed Chicken Wings with pickled cucumbers. This item was $16.
The Bangkok Crispy Chicken Wings with Nuoc Cham caramel were next. This item was $16.
Both of the wings had heavy sesame glazes. The chicken was tender and delicious underneath with a harder outer crust drenched with sauce.
Next, the Wild Mushroom Dumplings with dim sum sauce, chili crunch, and roasted Mushrooms, pictured at bottom left in the photo above. These were delicious dumplings that came out piping hot and topped with a soy-type sauce. I would recommend these items as my second-favorite from the new Nomad Lounge menu. This item was $14.
Grilled Beef Kefta with a Middle-Eastern-inspired beef skewer was my favorite item on the menu and what I will most likely return here to order again. It comes with harissa humus, herb-honey yogurt, pickled red onions, naan bread, and one solid skewer on top of the naan. This item was $17.
Finally, the classic mini-churros come with two dipping sauces: a vanilla crema and blueberry sauce. This came with five perfectly tender and soft churros. These melt in your mouth and are delicious. I highly recommend them.
The only menu item we didn’t order was the Traveller’s Provisions charcuterie board with naan bread service. This is a version of the existing naan bread service.
When I return next, my lunch will be the Beef Kefta and the churros. Those were my favorites on the menu here.
Generally, I really enjoyed the meal here. Nomad Lounge consistently offers a perfect escape from the crowds and heat of the theme park with a nice rotating menu that delivers the same quality of food as the great Tiffins Restaurant next door.
