One of Disney World’s fanciest restaurants, and one of its few to strongly suggest a dress code, will soon close for refurbishment. Disney World’s Fancy Steak Restaurant Closing for Refurbishment
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort belongs to Disney World’s deluxe tier of hotel options and evokes a theme of seaside New England. As part of several changes happening at this resort, one of its restaurants will soon close for refurbishment.
Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will temporarily close on May 11, 2026. The last day to dine at this restaurant before the refurbishment is May 10.

The restaurant will reopen sometime in early August 2026, though an exact reopening date has not been announced.
As its name indicates, the menu at Yachtsman Steakhouse specializes in steak, with entrées like filet mignon and prime rib priced around $70.
Disney hasn’t announced what will change during the refurbishment of Yachtsman Steakhouse, other than describing it as a “refresh.” We don’t expect anything too dramatic within the relatively short three-month closure.

Where to Eat While Yachtsman Steakhouse is Closed
Disney World guests with a craving for steak can still find it nearby at Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada pavilion at EPCOT, pictured above, within walking distance from Disney’s Yacht Club Resort for those with theme park admission. Unlike Yachtsman Steakhouse, Le Cellier Steakhouse does not mandate a dress code.
In describing the dress code for Yachtsman Steakhouse, Disney encourages “attire that respects the restaurant’s sophisticated and upscale aesthetic.” During the refurbishment of Yachtsman Steakhouse, guests seeking this type of dining experience can visit Disney’s other restaurants with the same dress code: California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort; Narcoosee’s and Cítricos, both at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa; Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk; and Jiko – The Cooking Place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Requiring an even more sophisticated dress code than the restaurants listed above is Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It encourages “semi-formal/formal attire” to match the restaurant’s “elegant and opulent” style.
More Refurbishments Ongoing at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
The upcoming refurbishment of Yachtsman Steakhouse isn’t the only project ongoing at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
The Admiral leisure pool, one of the property’s quieter pools, closed for refurbishment in January 2026 and will reopen in early May 2026. The same is true of the Tidal leisure pool, technically located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort but also accessible to guests staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
Still open for guests of both resorts are the Dunes Cove leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Villas and the centrally located Stormalong Bay, complete with a water slide themed to a shipwreck and a lazy river. Stormalong Bay is one of our favorite pools in Disney World.
Additionally, Crew’s Cup Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort closed in February 2026 and will reopen in May 2026.
Refurbishments at Other Disney World Hotels
With the Yachtsman Steakhouse closure and the other projects happening at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, the hotel is among several Disney World hotels with refurbishments on their calendars.
Just this week, Disney announced refurbishments starting soon for rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, various facilities at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
